Azumarill is a Melee All Rounder that thrives in single-target fights in Pokémon Unite. Playing the Pokémon can be misleading with it being categorized as Easy, but there is still some depth to Azumarill. These are the best held items, battle items, and movesets for Azumarill in Pokémon Unite.

Best Uses For Azumarill in Pokemon Unite

Azumarill thrives when doing single target damage. This is because of its Ability, Huge Power. When dealing damage to a single Pokémon, Azumarill will always deal a Critical Hit. When facing multiple Pokémon, however, attacks will never result in a Critical Hit.

Moves

Aqua Tail and Whirlpool are the first moves that players choose from at level five and are both useful. Both moves will restore Azumarill's HP, with Whirlpool being better for close-ranged builds and Aqua Tail being good for attacking from a distance.

Water Pulse and Play Rough are second moves that players choose from at level seven and are good at slowing Pokémon down. Water Pulse will decrease the movement speed of opposing Pokémon while Play Rough increases the speed of Azumarill and gives it the ability to stun Pokémon temporarily.

Held Items

Held Items can drastically change the course of a match and Azumarill can use many of them to great effectiveness.

• Scope Lens - The best item for Azumarill. Increases the Critical Hit Damage by 12 percent with another buff based on Azumarill's Attack stat.
• Attack Weight - A good item for Azumarill players looking to maximize their damage. Increases Azumarill's Attack stat by six at level one, and 12 at level 20 every time they score a goal. This stacks up to six times.
• Buddy Barrier - This item is fantastic on every Pokémon as it increases their survivability and helps out in a team fight. This creates a shield for both Azumarill and the ally with the lowest HP near it whenever Azumarill uses its Unite Move.
• Muscle Band - On Basic Attack builds for Azumarill, the Muscle Band is almost a requirement. It increases the damage of Azumarill's Basic Attack based on the HP of the Pokémon it is fighting. It also increases the speed of these attacks.
• Razor Claw - Reducing the movement speed of opposing Pokémon with this item has great results and works well with Azumarill's Play Rough move. This item also increases the Basic Attacks of Azumarill based on its Attack Stat.
• Focus Band - While this held item may not always proc when being burst down by opposing Pokémon, it can increase Azumarill's survivability. Paired with Whirlpool or Aqua Tail, Focus Band can guarantee that Azumarill out heals the damage of opposing Pokémon in a fight.

Battle Items are mostly up to player preference, but there is some synergy with some builds that players may want to consider.

• Goal Getter - Paired with Attack Weight, Goal Getter can ensure that Azumarill scores as often as possible to get their Attack buffs. Its high cooldown of 90 seconds might seem like a lot, but when used properly, this can ensure clutching a last-minute score.
• X Speed - Mobility is very important in Pokémon Unite and players that don't use Play Rough may find themselves having to chase enemy Pokémon too long. X Speed can guarantee both getting out of chases and finishing one quickly on Pokémon with low HP.
• X Attack - Both Razor Claw and Scope Lens have their effectiveness increased with Azumarill's Attack going up. With the increase to Basic Attack damage as well, both Aqua Tail and Play Rough are severely buffed. The low cooldown of only 40 seconds is a good bonus.

Best Whirlpool And Play Rough Build

This build focuses on single target damage while healing to ensure that Azumarill survives duels. Burst damage Pokémon still threaten it, making Absol, Talonflame, and Zeraora strong against it, but Azumarill can still survive in the right circumstances.

Held Items

• Scope Lens - Will increase Azumarill's damage output, ensuring that Play Rough does as much damage as possible. Play Rough's ability to stun Pokémon make it more likely to take down enemy Pokémon before getting burst down.
• Attack Weight - Azumarill's best option for raising their Attack and players can take advantage of the buff by scoring multiple times with low energy. Scoring with even one energy will still give Azumarill a full stack.
• Razor Claw - Does well with Attack Weight as it increases its extra damage based on Azumarill's Attack stat. This also makes it so enemies can't run away as well from a strong Azumarill. Paired with X Attack, this can melt away enemy Pokémon.

Battle Items

• Goal Getter - Can ensure that Azumarill gets its Attack Weight buffs quickly without much trouble. Having no Score Shield makes it so this item is more important.

Best Aqua Tail And Play Rough Build

Increasing the Basic Attacks of Azumarill is the goal of this build. Aqua Tail and Play Rough cancel each other out so it's important to keep this in mind when using the Pokémon. The idea behind the build is to use Play Rough on Pokémon close by and to use Aqua Tail from a distance, either while chasing or by running away before retaliating.

Held Items

• Muscle Band - Will increase the speed and damage of Azumarill's Basic Attacks. With Aqua Tail and Play Rough both changing Azumarill's Basic Attacks and enhancing them, this item will also apply the buff to those attacks as well.
• Scope Lens - A must have on Azumarill because of how often it Crits. No matter the build, Scope Lens is Azumarill's best source of damage.
• Buddy Barrier - This item is what will keep both Azumarill and their teammates alive during team fights, as it doesn't have much survivability in the late game.

• X Speed - Can make sure Azumarill gets back into battle or escape one when they need to.
• X Attack - Is used to increase damage and ensure that Azumarill finishes fights quickly.
