How to Find Kecleon in Pokémon GO & Can Kecleon Be Shiny?

You can finally catch it!

Niantic regularly adds new Pokémon for players to hunt down in Pokémon GO. One Pokémon that has lagged far behind others, specifically behind its fellow Hoenn inhabitants, is Kecleon. Kecleon has long been anticipated by players thanks to its unique camouflaging mechanics. It was always assumed that Kecleon would be added during an event, but Niantic has surprised players with the drop of this sneaky creature into the wild.

How to catch a Kecleon in Pokémon GO

Catching Kecleon is as easy as finding a PokéStop with the Pokémon clinging to the side and spinning it. After this, Kecleon will be in the overworld for players to encounter and catch. Kecleon's camouflage will make it tricky to spot, so be sure to click on a PokéStop and look closely to see if you can spot the chameleon Pokémon. The red stripe on Kecleon's stomach will be the most noticeable part of the Pokémon when it is invisible, so it's a good idea to keep an eye out for that.

Can Kecleon be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Kecleon will have its shiny form available for players attending the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas, and it's likely (but not guaranteed) that after this event, players around the world will be able to encounter the shiny form of this Pokémon. Kecleon's shiny swaps its red stomach stripe for a blue one and also takes a more muted green color when not camouflaged. Kecleon will also likely have XXS and XXL variants in the game too, so be sure to look out for these.
