How to get Drifloon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Isn't it adorable?

With over 900 Pokémon in the series, there are bound to be some rare Pokémon that are hard to find. This is true in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. One such Pokémon is the ghost and flying type Drifloon.

To catch Drifloon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you will complete a series of steps and a specific timeline. You can see these below.

  • Wait until a Friday after you have defeated Team Galactic at the Valley Windworks.
  • Return to the Valley Windworks on a Friday between the times of 10 AM and 7:59 PM.
  • If you have done this correctly, Drifloon will appear in front of the Valley Windoworks building.

Once Drifloon has appeared you will simply need to approach and interact with it. This will cause a battle where you can catch it as you would a normal Pokémon encounter. Do NOT try and change your Switch's time as this will not work and will lock you out of any time-based events for 24 hours.

Drifloon's evolution Drifblim is a solid Pokémon to have on your team. So it is well worth it to go through this and catch a Drifblim. Those looking to complete their Pokédex will need one and evolving Drifloon is the only way to add Drifblim to your Pokédex besides a trainer in Hearthome's Gym.
