As further proof that fans love the fourth generation of Pokémon games, it is being reported by Gamebiz.jp that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl has sold around 6 million copies during its first week. This puts them in the same ballpark as Sword and Shield's sales during those games' first week, but it is also double the launch sales for Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!
Pokémon is the biggest media franchise in the world, and the games have always been huge sellers, so these sale numbers shouldn't come as a complete surprise. However, what's noteworthy is the fact that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl did so well despite being remakes of older games. In particular, both games also did extremely well in the first week of release in Japan.
