Niantic has staked a claim on a new frontier for their Pokémon Go video game. The niche for Pokémon Go is gamers who want to go outside more. To augment this, Niantic has launched a Community Ambassador Program to recruit local Pokémon Go event organizers. Will the position catch on with fans?
On their official site's News tab, Niantic posted a blog that detailed a new initiative for in-person events. The Community Ambassador Program is an invitation for Silph Road Rank 4 (or higher) community members to accept assistance/guidance from Niantic to host local activities for Pokémon Go. On their PokemonGoApp official Twitter account, they were even more direct about their goal to recruit responsible helpers.

The Community Ambassador Program allows organizers to be more authoritative and helpful with their local Pokémon Go community, according to Niantic. This is because Ambassadors will not be official employees or volunteers of Niantic. Instead, they are to be regarded as an independent person who organizes occasions with the help of Niantic. They claim this gives Ambassadors the ability to speak more freely on the Pokémon franchise as a whole, provided they are professional.
People who are accepted into the Community Ambassador Program will receive giveaway items and insider knowledge from time to time as one of the perks of the program. Those who want to apply need to be Ranked at Level 4 or higher on Silph Road and over the age of 18. To apply, they will need to visit the Silph Road site to fill out an application.
