Aside from tactical battles, convictions play a huge role in Triangle Strategy’s gameplay experience. Serenoa’s convictions shape what paths are open to him in future chapters, the kind of people he meets, and whether or not certain people will listen to his words.
Serenoa’s convictions can lean toward three philosophies: morality, liberty, and utility. An invisible value for morality, liberty, and utility is added whenever you answer dialogue options when prompted.

Others actions that can raise convictions:
- Choosing a path during times when you consult the Scales of Conviction (a unanimous vote will highly increase the strength of your conviction for a particular philosophy)
- Using the shops in your encampment
- Using specific battle strategies (such as ending a turn without taking action and using recommended units)
- Talking to NPCs
- Examining objects and collecting items during exploration
Depending on the strength of your convictions, it will be harder or easier for Serenoa to persuade his comrades towards a path when they use the Scales. Choices made using the Scales branch the plot out, dictates the battles you have to win, and even adjusts the difficulty of your upcoming battles.
Serenoa’s convictions also affect which units offer their services to his army. For example, people like Julio and Medina need high morality values to meet.
