As a strategy role-playing game, some of the biggest parts of Triangle Strategy’s gameplay are the tactical battles. These battles can be Very Easy, Easy, Normal, or Hard, depending on your preferences, and you can switch the difficulty at any time.
How does difficulty affect gameplay in Triangle Strategy?
If you’re curious about the differences, however, there are three major ones: the AI’s cunning, damage dealt to allies, and damage dealt to enemies. There is no difference in rewards, spoils, and EXP gained between difficulties.
The higher the difficultly, the smarter the AI is. They’ll hide their backs against a wall to prevent you from exploiting their backside, they're smart enough to know to exploit your weaknesses (so keep Erador away from mages), and they will surround you when given an opportunity, among other things. They also love dealing back attacks.
The damage spikes in higher difficulties are no joke, either. You can be five levels above the recommended stage and still lose, just because they deal so much damage (and you deal very little in return). It’ll be a challenge, but every battle is winnable with the right strategies.

If you’re winning to lower your pride, you can also grind levels and money on Very Easy, just to speed the process up. Money is best, as upgrades and items are expensive.
