Interestingly, not all Spirits in Anime Defenders are as useful as you think. Similar to Traits, some are good only for certain types of units, which makes them less valuable. That's why I ranked some Spirits in higher tiers, although they're not as rare as others. Below is a tier list of all Spirits in Anime Defenders.

Best Spirits in Anime Defenders, Ranked

The best Spirit in Anime Defenders is True Spirit. If you get this for your area-of-effect unit with a great range, it's a game changer. Just imagine 75% better-increased damage for one of your best damage dealers. And if that unit also has one of the best Traits available, you'll be unstoppable. That said, getting this Spirit is almost impossible as there's only 0.3% of getting it via summons.

S Tier

  • Divine Spirit doesn't deal damage but is extremely useful as it forces enemies to turn around, allowing you to destroy them easily.
  • Enchanted Spirit raises enemies from the dead to fight for you, which is especially useful when you need extra hands at the early stages of the match.
  • True Spirit is all about dealing with damage. A lot of damage.

A Tier

  • Fire Spirit adds Burn damage to your unit's repertoire. This is ideal for units that deal fire damage, like the Chief of Lava.
  • Galactic Spirit gives multiple buffs and is still realistic enough to obtain (9%), making it a good pick if you manage to get it.
  • Mirror Spirit is great for units with powerful abilities as it reduces cooldown by 35%.

B Tier

  • Crystal Spirit is one of those powerful Spirits that is good only for certain situations. Bonus damage against the most powerful units is great, but I would reroll it and look for better options for my best units.
  • Earth Spirit stuns enemies, which is one of the most useful options. Unfortunately, it has a long cooldown, which makes this Spirit mediocre.
  • Ice Spirit increases Slow and Stun, but only if your unit has these abilities.

C Tier

  • Crimson Spirit is fantastic for all units with a Burn or Bleed effect, as it increases damage by 50%. But for all other units, it's useless.
  • Dark Spirit gives you a better range and reduces cooldown, making your unit significantly weaker. This is still useful for support units, as their damage output is unimportant. Still, there are better options.
  • Golden Spirit gives your unit a bonus for money gained. This is awesome for farm units like Pink Rockstar but terrible for everyone else.
