Updated October 27, 2026: Added Ultra Gowko, Freezo, Demon King, Zenith (Sleeping), and Tango from Anime Zero Update 0. The new units' placements are temporary while testing continues. These rankings focus on PvE; beta PvP has not been evaluated.
Looking for the best units in Anime Galaxies after Update 0? My established PvE picks include Roger for team buffs and shield bypass, Sokonu for wave damage, and Stork for AoE, with Spedwag funding the upgrades. Foji remains useful for air-and-ground coverage and Slow. Below, you'll find the tier chart, individual unit explanations, and what is currently confirmed about the new Secrets and Mythics, so you can plan your team and your next grind.
Anime Galaxies Unit Tier List (Update 0)
How to read the rankings: S-tier units are the core picks and carry options, A-tier units offer strong utility or more conditional performance, and B-tier units fill progression slots. C-tier combat Epics are for the very early game, while D-tier Rares should be replaced as soon as possible. PROVISIONAL identifies a working placement awaiting full testing, including the new Update 0 units.

RELATED: Best Anime Galaxies Traits
Spedwag earns his place through economy, Roger brings a damage buff and shield bypass, and Foji combines hybrid targeting with control. Compare units by the job they do for your lineup. The explanations below use the same tiers as the chart, including the provisional placements.
| Unit | Why This Tier |
|---|---|
| S TierCore picks and carry options | |
Roger (Pirate King) SSECRET | A complete damage-and-support package. Roger brings a 2.5-second stun on a 12-second trigger cooldown, shield bypass, and a 150% damage follow-up every fifth attack that splashes enemies within 6 studs. That combination gives him answers to shielded targets and clustered waves while buying the rest of your team more time to attack. His biggest team-building advantage is Captain of the Seas: other units inside his range gain 10% damage. Position him to cover several damage dealers and a useful stretch of the path. The buff does not stack, so overlapping Roger auras do not multiply that bonus. His stun also has downtime; use it as part of your control setup. |
Sokonu (King) SSECRET | A wave-clearing carry with damage at both ends of an enemy's health bar. Above 50% HP, his attacks apply a three-second Bleed worth 50% of his damage in total. Below 50% HP, his attacks gain 30% damage. Every 15 takedowns primes a 200% follow-up against every enemy in range, and his kills also spread a four-second Burn worth 40% damage to enemies within 6 studs. Dense waves feed his kill-triggered effects. Shrine of Calamity adds a five-second Domain every 40 seconds, dealing 50% of his damage every half-second to enemies inside. Place him where enemies stay in coverage. Against an isolated boss, his takedown-dependent effects have fewer opportunities to contribute, although his health-based bonuses and timed Domain still matter. |
Ishgo (Perfect Mask) SMYTHIC | A carry that combines repeatable splash damage with a Bleed window. Each hit adds one point to his 15-point Hollow Gauge. Filling it triggers eight seconds of Hollow Rage, during which attacks apply a three-second Bleed worth 60% of his damage in total. From Upgrade 3, every third attack also produces a 60% damage follow-up against the target and up to two extra enemies within 6 studs. Keep him attacking a busy stretch of the path so he can build gauge and make use of the Rage window. His mix of follow-up damage and Bleed earns him a place among the carry options in S tier, although his output needs time to build and the follow-up is capped at three targets. Give him regular targets and support him with control to keep enemies in reach. |
Goju (Six Eyes) SMYTHIC | A positioning-dependent damage pick that rewards keeping enemies close. Infinite Distance deals 6% of his damage every second to enemies inside the inner 40% of his range. Reversal Burst adds an 80% damage follow-up every fourth attack, hitting enemies within 6 studs of the target. Both effects benefit from enemies staying clustered around the right part of the path. Place Goju near a bend or a section your control units can hold enemies in. Enemies at the outer edge of his range will miss the aura damage entirely, so maximizing the visible range circle is not enough. Foji or Megomu can help prolong enemy exposure. His placement here rests on the confirmed aura and burst mechanics; the full Imaginary Void charging condition still needs testing. |
Zid (Atomic) SMYTHICPROVISIONAL | TBA. Testing in progress. |
Stork (Resurrection) SMYTHIC | A strong sustained AoE pick when you respect his spacing requirement. Every third attack sends out a Soul Wolf for a 90% damage follow-up in a 5-stud radius. From Upgrade 3, Solitude increases those explosions by 1.5 times when no other unit is within 10 studs, raising the follow-up to 135% damage. That makes isolation a meaningful damage bonus. Lupine Barrage adds six 30% damage follow-ups over three seconds every 25 seconds. Its random targeting spreads the shots across available enemies, so it is less precise in a crowd. Leave space around Stork and plan nearby support placements carefully. Solitude specifically boosts Soul Wolf explosions; do not apply that multiplier to every part of his kit. |
Joren (Unlimited) SMYTHICPROVISIONAL | TBA. Testing in progress. |
Spedwag SEPIC | The essential farm pick for funding your PvE team. Spedwag earns S tier through income: your damage dealers need money for placement and upgrades, and farming helps you get their full kits online. Keep enough damage on the field to survive while you invest in your economy. Even anime protagonists have bills to pay. Update 0 also added automatic farm selling on the last wave. Look for that option when setting up a run. Spedwag remains the exception to the early-game Epic rule because his economy role stays useful as your combat units improve. |
Zenith (Sleeping) Zenitsu SMYTHICPROVISIONAL | TBA. Testing in progress. |
Ultra Gowko SSECRETPROVISIONAL | Update 0 Secret with confirmed air-and-ground targeting. Ultra Gowko is a hybrid, making him an option to investigate when your team needs flying-enemy coverage. His S-tier position is provisional while I verify his complete kit, upgrade costs, and performance. Hybrid targeting is confirmed, but it does not settle the comparison with Foji's Slow or Ultra Gowko's damage ceiling. |
Tango Tengen SMYTHICPROVISIONAL | TBA. Testing in progress. |
Freezo Frieza SSECRETPROVISIONAL | The Namek Portal Secret, based on Frieza. Namek Portals are obtained from Infinite on any map, giving you a route to work toward Freezo. A later Update 0 patch also added Freezo pity. His S-tier placement is provisional as I need to learn more about the unit. |
Demon King Muzan SSECRETPROVISIONAL | The new Endless Secret, based on Muzan. The Invitation item is used to obtain him through Endless. The exact Invitation requirements, drop rate, and full acquisition procedure are still being verified. His S-tier placement is provisional pending full kit and performance testing. The Secret label and acquisition route are confirmed; a comparison with Roger, Sokonu, and the other carries needs his passive effects, attack coverage, and upgrade costs. |
| A TierStrong picks with useful roles | |
Itoshi (Awakened) AMYTHICPROVISIONAL | TBA. Testing in progress. |
Megomu (Shadows) AMYTHIC | A control-and-damage pick that benefits from slowed targets. Divine Hounds applies a 50% Slow for four seconds, with a seven-second trigger cooldown. Hunting Pack adds a 60% damage follow-up when he hits a slowed enemy. Chimera Garden opens an eight-second Domain every 30 seconds, dealing 5% of his damage every half-second to enemies inside. Place him where his control helps several damage dealers share coverage. His own Slow has gaps, so another source of Slow could help Hunting Pack activate more consistently. Foji is a promising partner, but that interaction is still unverified. Megomu earns A tier for the combination of control and extra damage, with Hunting Pack depending on the target's status when the hit lands. |
Foji ALEGENDARY | Hybrid coverage and control in one team slot. Foji can attack both air and ground. Gravity Press applies a 60% Slow for three seconds, triggering at most once every six seconds. Position him where slowing enemies also gives your main damage dealers more time to attack. Ultra Gowko is now another confirmed hybrid option in Update 0. That gives Foji competition for air coverage, but his Slow remains a separate reason to bring him. Choose around the role your team needs; Ultra Gowko's hybrid change alone does not establish that he replaces Foji. Foji may also help activate Megomu's Hunting Pack, although that specific interaction still needs confirmation. |
| B TierProvisional progression picks | |
Gen BLEGENDARYPROVISIONAL | Use Gen in a temporary combat slot if he is one of your strongest available units. His B-tier position remains provisional while his full kit and upgrade efficiency are being tested. |
Kitzaru BLEGENDARYPROVISIONAL | A temporary combat option while you assemble your core team. His B-tier placement is provisional; keep a confirmed hybrid such as Foji available when your lineup needs air coverage. |
Natzo BLEGENDARYPROVISIONAL | A progression option while you build toward your preferred team. His B-tier position remains provisional until his passive effects and damage efficiency can be compared properly. |
Kizua BLEGENDARYPROVISIONAL | Use Kizua to fill a gap in an early lineup. His B-tier placement remains provisional while his full kit, upgrade efficiency, and possible utility are being tested. |
| C TierVery-early-game combat units | |
Gowko CEPIC | Good only for the very early game. This is the starter Epic Gowko, not the Secret Ultra Gowko added with Update 0. Replace this version when you obtain a stronger combat option. |
Itodoki CEPIC | Good only for the very early game. Replace Itodoki with a stronger combat option as your roster improves. Save major investment for your core team. |
Hippo CEPIC | Good only for the very early game. Replace Hippo with a stronger combat option as your roster improves. Save major investment for your core team. |
Vegira CEPIC | Good only for the very early game. Replace Vegira with a stronger combat option as your roster improves. Save major investment for your core team. |
| D TierStarter units to replace | |
San-G DRARE | Replace as soon as possible. A starter stopgap while you work toward a stronger combat roster. |
Zorto DRARE | Replace as soon as possible. A starter stopgap while you work toward a stronger combat roster. |
Soskee DRARE | Replace as soon as possible. A starter stopgap while you work toward a stronger combat roster. |
Sakoora DRARE | Replace as soon as possible. A starter stopgap while you work toward a stronger combat roster. |
Testing status: PROVISIONAL marks a working placement pending full testing. All five new Mythic and Secret entries carry that label, along with the unfinished older evaluations. Goju's full Imaginary Void trigger and the Foji/Megomu interaction also remain unverified.

Update 0 Units and How to Get the New Secrets
The new high-rarity additions are Ultra Gowko, Freezo (Frieza), Demon King (Muzan), Zenith (Sleeping), and Tango. The patch notes refer to the two Mythics as Zenitsu and Tengen; the tier list uses their in-game names. Their rarities are confirmed, but complete kits and comparable upgrade costs are still being verified.
- Freezo: Obtained through the Namek Portal. Namek Portals are obtained from Infinite on any map. A later patch added portal replay/next options and Freezo pity. The exact unit drop rate and pity threshold are still unconfirmed.
- Demon King: The new Secret associated with Endless. The Invitation item is used to obtain Muzan, called Demon King in the unit list. The exact Invitation requirements and acquisition steps are still being verified.
- Ultra Gowko: Confirmed to hit both air and ground. Update 0 also introduced the MUI Goku event and added event details to its in-game UI. Check that panel for the current event requirements; the complete Ultra Gowko unlock process is still being verified.
Update 0 also added Krillin (Rare), Nobara (Epic), and Future Trunks, Shinobu, Rock Lee, and Joseph Joestar (Legendary). Their kits have not yet been evaluated, so they are not assigned tiers here. These are the names used in the patch notes; their exact in-game names and acquisition methods will be added once confirmed.
Secret pity has also been added, but its thresholds and eligibility still need confirmation. Keep the general Secret pity system separate from Freezo's specifically announced pity until the rules for each are verified.
How I Rank Anime Galaxies Units
I rank units by their contribution to a full PvE team: damage, AoE coverage, control, support, economy, cost, and targeting. Rarity alone does not decide the tier. Spedwag earns S through farming, Foji earns A through hybrid coverage and Slow, and Roger's buff and shield bypass contribute alongside his own damage. The beta PvP mode needs its own evaluation.
For progression, start with a farm unit, a dependable damage dealer, and an answer to flying enemies. Fill the remaining slots around the content you are clearing, using control or extra damage where needed. Foji can cover air and Slow in one slot; Ultra Gowko's hybrid change gives another option to compare once his full kit and costs are verified.
Positioning and activation conditions matter. Stork needs nearby space for Solitude, Goju needs enemies inside the inner part of his range, and Sokonu needs takedowns to fuel parts of his kit. Follow-up attacks use current unit damage, but they do not count as normal attacks or trigger on-attack/on-hit effects. Damage-over-time percentages refer to the total over the stated duration unless an effect explicitly gives a tick interval.
Upgrade costs and build differences also affect a comparison. Bond/Worthiness, added in Update 0, improves stat rerolls, so compare a unit's level, Trait, rolled stats, and buffs before judging it from one damage number. The new Trait Changer lets you change the active Trait within a rarity you have reached, which is useful when adjusting a unit's build.
Placements marked PROVISIONAL are still being evaluated. That applies to the five new Mythic and Secret entries, Zid (Atomic), Joren (Unlimited), Itoshi (Awakened), and the four older B-tier Legendaries. Their positions can change once their full kits, costs, and performance have been compared. For the evaluated starter options, non-farm Epics remain very-early-game picks and Rares should be replaced as soon as possible.
That covers my Anime Galaxies Unit Tier List for Update 0. I'll keep updating the rankings as I unlock and test more units, including the new portal, Endless, and event additions.
