Not sure how Heavenly Restriction works in Cursed Gear? The NieR-inspired Roblox action RPG boasts one of the most complex RPG systems we've seen in Roblox games. There's a whole lot of mechanics, subsystems, and features you need to keep track of, so it can be daunting to try to understand everything. Sitting at the top, Heavenly Restriction is probably one of the most complicated to understand. Read on to learn all you need to know about it.
What is Heavenly Restriction in Cursed Gear
Heavenly Restriction is the complete absence of Cursed Energy (CE) within a player. In exchange for losing access to core sorcerer functions (Cursed Techniques), you'll gain a package of physical combat advantages, stealth-related benefits, and access to a special restricted loadout. At the most basic level, Heavenly Restriction fundamentally overrides the core way you play the game.
How to Get Heavenly Restriction
Heavenly Restriction is an extremely rare condition that can be obtained any time you roll a Clan. Whenever you reroll a Clan, there's a 1% chance that it will gain the Heavenly Restriction trait, granting you a variety of buffs and trade-offs unique to this mechanic.
Keep in mind, though, that this is out of your control. There's a chance to get it whether you want it or not. You cannot simply turn it off while rolling a Clan. It can happen with any Clan - you can get it alongside a Common Clan as well as a Royal Clan, and the chances are the same (1%).
How to Remove Heavenly Restriction From a Clan
If you were hoping there was a way to remove this trait from a Clan if you don’t want it, we have to disappoint you. Once Heavenly Restriction gets attached to a Clan you’ve rerolled, it stays there until you reroll again. This means that the only way to remove Heavenly Restriction is to reroll your current Clan. If you like your Clan but receive Heavenly Restriction alongside it and don’t want it, you’re simply unlucky.
NOTE: It's important to understand that Heavenly Restriction is not a normal standalone Clan in practice, even though it may sound so. Mechanically, it behaves like a special extension/modifier attached to your Clan. Because it is attached to your clan roll, Heavenly Restriction coexists with a clan effect. So your build is not “Heavenly Restriction instead of a Clan”; it is Heavenly Restriction plus whatever Clan you rolled with it.

What Does Heavenly Restriction Change in Cursed Gear
At its core, Heavenly Restriction doesn’t simply change a few numbers here and there with minor buffs and debuffs. Instead, it fundamentally alters how combat works in Cursed Gear. This mechanic introduces several additional systems, but also comes with severe restrictions and trade-offs. Here’s everything you gain (and lose) when you obtain Heavenly Restriction.
Heavenly Restriction Trade-Offs
- Technique Lock - Cannot use Cursed Techniques.
- No Cursed Energy - You don't have Technique Bar (Cursed Energy).
- No E Flicker - You cannot flicker your Cursed Energy by pressing E.
- No Black Flash - You cannot trigger Black Flash (double stun on M1/M2 and most skills), losing out on the associated damage and stun multipliers.
- Limited to only four of the nine available Gears - Due to the lack of Cursed Energy, you are limited to physical Gears: Executioner, Projector, Usurper, and Ravager.
Heavenly Restriction Buffs, Passives, and Abilities
- Efficiency Buff - You'll receive an innate buff to Efficiency, significantly increasing your maximum stamina.
- Automatic Parry - Instead of the standard E + F input, you only need to press F to automatically input a parry before blocking.
- Automatic Extended Stun - You cannot use Black Flash, but you get an even better thing. Instead of manually adding stun through Black Flash timing, the initial hit of a combo automatically has extended stun.
- Mook Hyang Technique - A unique skill you activate on T, which enhances the stun on the next skill used. However, if you miss or fail to hit anything in time, you suffer a brief knockdown.
- Curse Sense Immunity - All HR users are invisible to players using Curse Sense.
- Veil Permeability - You're ignored by veils, allowing you to enter and exit restricted areas freely.
- Cursed Tools (Technique Replacements) - You'll get access to Geddon (Rare), Basketball (Unique), and Betsy (Royal). These are unique tools that are equipped and used in the same slot as Cursed Techniques.
Heavenly Restriction and Gears
Due to the absence of Cursed Energy, players with Heavenly Restriction cannot use Energy-based Gears: Constructor, Hydra, Interceptor, Manipulator, and Sensor. As a result, you are limited to four Gears: Executioner, Projector, Ravager, and Usurper, since the others rely on Cursed Energy. On one hand, this significantly limits your build options, but on the other hand, what you do have will result in a significantly stronger build.
Best Gear for Heavenly Restriction
Objectively, Executioner is by far the best HR Gear in Cursed Gear. It is a fully physical, melee-first, combo-oriented, and stamina-friendly class, which is just perfect for a Heavenly Restriction build. Here's the Executioner's full kit/moveset:
- Mercenary Grab (Passive): Press V to grab knocked opponents; jumps take no stamina.
- Power Strike: Hold M1 for a second strike.
- Avalanche: Press M2 after a double jump for a descending slash.
- Triple Strike: Hold M1 and press M2 twice for 3 consecutive slashes.
- Overwhelm: Press M2 after knockback for a blitzing follow-up; at 8+ becomes unblockable
As you can see, nothing in its listed kit depends on the use of traditional cursed techniques. It is one of the most internally coherent Heavenly Restriction pairings.

Best Cybernetics for Heavenly Restriction
By far the best Cybernetic item for Heavenly Restriction builds is the Assault Loop Engine, but there are others that fit the gameplay style as well. Here is, in my opinion, the list of the best Cybernetics for HR builds.
Assault Loop Engine (The BEST for HR)
- Additional stamina regeneration every four hits.
- More effective on larger crowds.
- It fits so well because Heavenly Restriction:
- Gets more stamina through innate Efficiency
- Fights physically
- Wants sustained close combat
- Works great with combos
Effortless
- M1 and M2 consume less stamina.
- Very clean fit for any basic-attack-heavy HR style.
Energized
- Successful parries restore more stamina.
- Very relevant because HR has easier Parry input.
Biofeedback Relay
- When low on stamina, received damage converts to stamina.
- Potentially useful for a stamina-centered archetype.
Afterimage Step Replicator
- Movement speed while sprinting scales from Dexterity.
- Makes sense for mobile HR playstyles, especially Projector-like ones.
Neural Slipstream
- Coordinated Curse Dodge boosts movement speed
- Potentially useful for mobility/team play, though less directly guaranteed.
Neuro-Pacing Module
- Temporarily stops stamina consumption
- Then, all delayed stamina is consumed afterward and may guardbreak the user
- This fits HR’s stamina focus, but it is also high-risk.
Cursed Gear Heavenly Restriction FAQs
Heavenly Restriction is the complete absence of Cursed Energy within a player. It means that you are limited to using only physical gameplay mechanics.
Heavenly Restriction is obtained through the clan roll system. When rolling for a clan, there is a 1% chance to get Heavenly Restriction alongside the given Clan. If you reroll your clan later, Heavenly Restriction is removed unless you roll it again
Heavenly Restriction takes access to all Cursed Techniques away, as well as limited access to Gears. You also cannot use Black Flash, and cannot flicker Cursed Energy by pressing E.
You will become invisible to Curse Sense, ignored by Veils, gain an innate Efficiency buff (increased maximum stamina), Mook Hyang Technique, automatic Parry, automatic extended Stun, and Cursed Tools.
Heavenly Restriction is limited to four of the nine current Gears: Executioner, Projector, Ravager,
and Usurper. You cannot use Energy-based Gears: Constructor, Hydra, Interceptor, Manipulator, and Sensor.
Activating (press T) Mook Hyang Technique puts the user into a state of Intense Focus, which drastically enhances the stun of the next skill used. If you fail to land a hit within a certain window or miss, you are punished with a brief knockdown, leaving you vulnerable.
The best Cybernetic item for Heavenly Restriction builds in Cursed Gear is the Assault Loop Engine.
