Do Roblox toy codes expire?

Use your codes when it's convenient for you!

While many Roblox tips and tricks and widely known, some of them can fly under the radar and surprise unsuspecting players. For example, did you know that each time you purchase or receive a physical Roblox toy, you also receive a bonus virtual item that can be redeemed online via an exclusive code, and then used on your avatar?

If you're unsure how to redeem one of these codes, or are wondering if they ever expire, you're in luck—I answer both of these questions, and more, in the brief guide below.

Do Roblox toy codes ever expire?

From what I can tell, no, Roblox toy codes, like gift cards, never expire. Though there doesn't seem to be any official information from Roblox itself about the longevity of a gift card or toy code's validity, every other source on the internet that discusses this questions is in agreement, and assures that these codes cannot and will not expire.

In my personal experience, I purchased a Series 11 Roblox Mystery Box toy in Jan. 2023, and even though that series came out in March 2022, the code still worked when I redeemed it in Oct. 2023. That's over a year since the code would have been available for purchase, and nearly 10 months since I bought it.

How to redeem a Roblox toy code

Before we begin, you'll need to find your toy code coin and scratch off the grey SCRATCH OFF HERE layer that's covering the back of it. Underneath this layer is your code, which is used to redeem your free avatar accessory. Be careful to not scratch too hard, you don't want to accidentally scratch off your code!

Once you've revealed your code, head to the Roblox Redeem page and type it in exactly as it appears on your coin.

After double checking you inputted your code correctly, press Redeem. Upon doing so, a pop-up window should appear that congratulates you for claiming your new item. That's all there is to it! This item should now appear in your Robloxian's inventory.

Toy Codes vs. Promo Codes vs. Game Codes - What's the Difference?

Toy codes, promo codes, and game codes are all different types of codes that can be redeemed in Roblox, and each one has its own unique purpose. Toy codes, as described above, can only be unlocked by purchasing physical Roblox toys and give exclusive virtual items when redeemed. These codes can only be used once. Roblox promo codes are codes created by Roblox itself that can be used once per player (meaning any number of players can use them) and also give out exclusive avatar items.

Roblox game codes are codes created by individual Roblox developers that can only be redeemed in specific experiences and provide in-game rewards like currency, power boosts, items, etc. These codes can normally only be used once per player and expire after a certain amount of time, which is up to the developer's discretion.
