How to get the Lapel Pin accessory in Roblox?

Maybe snowflakes aren't as unique as we thought...

If you've been paying attention to the official Roblox account's Avatar Shop activity, or if you follow any Roblox update accounts on Twitter, chances are you've seen the strange Lapel Pin accessory that appeared in the store on Jan 8, 2022. At the time of this article's publication, Jan. 12, 2022, this front accessory cannot be purchased or obtained in any way, though it does have an interesting past. For more information on the Lapel Pin, continue reading below.

Is the Lapel Pin completely unobtainable?

The short answer to this question is yes—as mentioned above, the Lapel Pin, in its current form, has not, and can not, be obtained by any Robloxian. A different version of this accessory however, was once obtainable a few years ago. In 2018 the Snowflake Lapel Pin was created and released by Roblox as an exclusive gift card item, meaning that it could only be unlocked by those who purchased a W. H. Smith gift card in January of that year.

Why is this accessory back, and why was it renamed?

Though there's no definitive answer to this question, it can be assumed from past instances that this accessory was redesigned and re-uploaded to Roblox as a way to test the item's GUI, or graphical user interface. As recounted by numerous twitter users, and popular YouTuber SharkBlox, this accessory was originally titled (Asset version me) Lapel Pin, and had the description, "I'm a description!", before being updated to read Lapel Pin and "I'm a lapel pin!". The original name and description of this item leads us to believe that it was never intended to be seen by Roblox users, and was instead meant to fly under the radar as a simple upload test.

The item's revamp, including its new name and description was likely just a test as well—the original name that users saw was assumably a placeholder until the anticipated text could be added.

Will there be more free accessories in the future?
