It's no secret that the popular Roblox experience Islands takes many of its mechanics from the sandbox-style game Minecraft, including the use of farming fruits, vegetables, and in this case, grains. Recently added with the Nov. 13, 2021 update, players can now purchase rice seeds to help them make four unique types of sushi. In this quick guide, we'll be going over where you can obtain rice seeds and how to grow them into your very own rice farm.
Purchasing seeds
Like many other seeds in the Islands, players can purchase rice seeds from Cletus in the main hub. However, these seeds will require a pretty penny and quite a few levels of farming ability—39 levels, to be exact. If you have 3,330 coins to spare and at least 39 levels accumulated into your farming ability, you can begin purchasing as many rice seeds as you'd like from Cletus.

Planting seeds
Unlike most seeds, players can only plant rice seeds within Pond Planters. To craft a Pond Planter, you will need a tier four workbench. Players can find the recipe for crafting a Pond Planter in the list below.
- 40 Stone
- Requires at least a tier two workbench
- 10 Grass
- Requires at least a tier three workbench
- 1 Water Bucket
- Requires a tier four workbench
After crafting your Pond Planter, place it anywhere on your island and select the rice seeds from your inventory to begin planting.
Growing rice
After just a few minutes, you should notice your Pond Planter begin to sprout until outputting full amounts of rice. Rice can be harvested the same way any other plant can be, by hovering your cursor over the planter and pressing F. Once harvested, rice can be sold to Tom in the hub for coins or combined with seaweed to make sushi.
