Is BTS coming to Roblox? | Hyundai Mobility Adventure Event Recap

With the conclusion of the Hyundai Mobility Adventure event on Nov. 14, 2021, players are left wondering what the popular Korean boyband BTS had to do with the experience, and what their plans are with Roblox in general. Though no definitive answers are available at the moment, we do have a few quick teasers and possible confirmations worth mentioning—starting with the tweet from Roblox featured below.

This tweet, published on Nov. 11, 2021, just three days before the end of the Hyundai Roblox event, has created a mountain of questions within the Roblox community. Why would Roblox tweet this announcement so late? Perhaps to hint at future collaborations with the boyband, keeping fans invested long enough to continue the hype for any following experiences. Roblox's use of joining the metaverse, instead of joined the metaverse has also caught a few user's eyes—if this tweet was created weeks after the original event's opening, why wouldn't Roblox speak in past tense?

This cryptic language could possibly hint at a BTS Roblox concert, similar to that of Twenty One Pilots, Lil Nas X, or most recently, Tai Verdes, which all garnered massive amounts of visits from players. So far, however, the reactions to this theory have been mixed. Some users are excited about the collab and have been questioning the backlash, while others have gone as far as to state that they will leave the platform if the crossover takes place.

It appears that those dreading the rumored concert fear that the influx of BTS fans attending the experience will cause Roblox as a whole to crash, comparing it to the coincidence of Roblox facing a three day outage after the release of the Chipotle Boorito Maze. Though Roblox CEO and founder Dave Baszucki confirmed that the two events were not related in a statement posted to the official Roblox blog, fans continue to believe otherwise.

The original Hyundai Mobility Adventure experience launched on Oct. 15, 2021, followed by an involvement announcement from BTS appearing on Oct. 27, 2021 through an Instagram post from Hyundai Worldwide. From Oct. 27, 2021 to Nov. 14, 2021 users had the chance to comment their Roblox IDs and a statement regarding their excitement for the experience on the Instagram post for the chance to win an exclusive in-game prize. The winners of this contest will be announced on Nov. 17, 2021.

For those unfamiliar with Hyundai or the Hyundai Mobility Adventure, Hyundai is a South Korean car manufacturer that distributes cars across the world, while the Hyundai Mobility Adventure is a Roblox experience that allows players the opportunity to collect cars, decorate and own their personal garage, play games with friends, attend unique events, and more. This experience remains open, though there's currently no mention of BTS inside of it.
