Slayers 2 Tier List – Best Clans, Demon Arts, Breathing Styles & Weapons

Your family name can only carry you so far. Eventually, you have to land a hit.

Updated September 24, 2026 for V0.17: Flame and Wind now form the Breathing S tier, while Water drops to A after losing its safest Whirl Pool and Water Wheel routes. Shockwave remains the best overall Demon Art, Pyrokinesis moves into S, Ice falls to A, and Blood Manipulation drops to B. Clan tiers stay intact, and the weapon evaluations now account for the Shotgun, Wagasa, Sickles, and Axe and Mace changes.

Looking for the best clans, Breathing Styles, Blood Demon Arts, and weapons in Slayers 2? My current overall picks are Kamado for clans, Flame for Breathing, and Shockwave for Demon Arts. Firstlight Tanto leads the Demon Slayer weapons, while Firstlight War Fans are my top Demon weapon pick. This Slayers 2 tier list brings the four metas together so you can judge a complete build before spending spins, skill points, Wen, and upgrade materials.

Slayers 2 Tier List: Best Picks TL:DR

  • Best overall clan: Kamado. Rengoku, Uzui, Soyama, Shinazugawa, and Himejima complete the current S tier. V0.17 changes several optimal pairings, but none of the clan tier letters.
  • Best overall Breathing Style: Flame. Faster Z and held V pressure give it the broadest current PvP/PvE package. Wind joins it in S through strict-stun confirms, while Thunder leads A and Water follows.
  • Best overall Blood Demon Art: Shockwave. Its confirms survive the block-damage nerf, while Pyrokinesis joins it in S after receiving a faster barrage and 25% more Z damage. Ice now leads A.
  • Best weapons: Firstlight Tanto remains my best all-round Demon Slayer weapon, while Firstlight War Fans lead the Demon list. Lost Shotgun, Firstlight Bladed Wagasa, and Nightfall Sickles keep their tiers for now, but all three feel less forgiving after V0.17.

These are early V0.17 rankings. I weigh realistic damage windows, combo reliability, guard pressure, mobility, defensive tools, resource costs, and synergy across PvE and PvP. Skill cooldowns remain global and every counter shares one timer. Max Health is also 50% higher on all gear, with even larger full-set bonuses on Firstlight and Nightfall outfits, so repeatable starters and second rotations matter more than an old one-burst route. Entries within a tier run strongest or broadest first. TBA / Unranked means I still need comparable testing, not that the option is automatically weak.

Kamado remains my best overall clan pick, with a broad mix of control, damage conversion, sustain, and Demon utility. Rengoku benefits from Flame’s faster V0.17 starters, while Shinazugawa now converts Wind’s strict-stun catches into reliable specialist pressure. Uzui keeps its 25% damage mark and gains 20% more Enhanced Hearing range, but Musical Score has a longer cooldown and stuns without blocking the incoming damage. Soyama remains S, although its counter still shares one timer with Shockwave, War Fans, and every other counter.

Himejima stays S despite its earlier nerfs: its 20% damage mark and three Block Points are weaker than the launch values, but the complete defensive package remains excellent in the higher-health meta. Kocho stays A after Poison Draw gains Insect damage, movement, dash speed, poison damage, and cooldown reduction; slower Insect startups and lost V invincibility stop the full build from reaching S. Iguro also remains A, with its on-death poison now disabled in Arena and Ranked alongside Kocho’s.

Flame is my early best overall Breathing recommendation in V0.17, with Wind completing S tier. Flame Z starts 20% faster and now dashes down correctly to slammed targets, while held V is 50% faster with a much shorter gap before its second slash. Wind has the higher technical combo ceiling: Z’s first hit now confirms the second part with strict stun, and V travels farther and faster while adding another one-second strict stun.

Thunder leads A, followed by Water, Stone, and Serpent. Water loses its S-tier safety because Whirl Pool can no longer be used while stunned, its tap strict stun falls to 1.8 seconds, and Water Wheel tap now applies regular stun. Sound falls to B after another round of guard-pressure nerfs, while Insect stays B: Kocho’s new mode helps its ceiling, but slower Z/X/V startups, longer cooldowns, reduced C range, and removed V invincibility make mistakes expensive.

Shockwave remains my early best Blood Demon Art in V0.17, with Pyrokinesis joining it in S. Shockwave Z and C lose 50% block damage, but the Art keeps its strict-stun catch, steerable barrage, armor-breaking counter, and flexible slam. Pyrokinesis gains the clearest offensive promotion: C’s barrage is 30% faster and Z deals 25% more damage, making its tracked and steerable pressure much harder to waste.

Ice, Dream, Obi, Arrow, and Reaper form A tier. Ice loses its instant mid-combo X route, X gains three seconds of cooldown, and only the ultimate’s final hit now guardbreaks. Blood Manipulation falls to B after losing V block damage, 45% of C scaling, and 35% of its ultimate damage and scaling; the matching Sickles are weaker too. Tamari remains B, while Reaper stays for comparison because the balance notes classify it as a Fighting Style rather than a Blood Demon Art.

For the full comparison, see our Slayers 2 Blood Demon Arts Tier List. You may also see these called Evil Arts in-game. Keep clan effects separate from the art itself: Shabana's party bonuses can support a Demon build, but they are not innate Blood Manipulation skills.

Slayers 2 Weapons Tier List

Weapons need two rankings because Demon Slayers and Demons do not chase the same endgame equipment. I am ranking the upgraded versions you actually build toward, not letting a strong base-weapon patch outweigh the stats, passives, and full moveset of its later form.

Firstlight Tanto remains the safest all-round Slayer recommendation. It combines top-end damage and block stats with quick M1s and easy combo routing. Firstlight Spear offers better reach and AoE, although its Z barrage uses hyper armor rather than i-frames. Lost Shotgun stays S for now because its endgame stats and PvE catches remain excellent, but Z’s final knockback removes the free route into X, and X invincibility only begins after a successful grab.

Firstlight War Fans remain my best overall Demon weapon thanks to elite stats and a complete mix of melee, range, and AoE. Firstlight Bladed Wagasa keeps S provisionally through its stats, mobility, crowd clearing, and Sun Immunity, but it is clearly weaker in PvP: Z starts slower, its final strict stun and block damage are reduced, while X loses stun and block pressure in exchange for damage and better tracking.

Nightfall Claws remain the safer A-tier pressure option. Nightfall Sickles keep A provisionally because of their endgame stats, mobility, AoE, and required Blood synergy, but Z now deals 35% less damage and scaling, starts 0.15 seconds slower, and loses 40% block damage; X loses another 25% block damage. Nightfall Scythe remains B, while Axe and Mace’s 5% speed and damage buff is not enough to overcome its C-tier stats. For full acquisition details, see our Slayers 2 Weapon Tier List.

Best Slayers 2 Clan, Style, and Weapon Combinations

Already rolled a useful clan or crafted an upgraded weapon? Start by checking whether the complete setup supports how you actually fight. These are quick build directions, not mandatory pairings:

  • Water + Tomioka or Urokodaki: Tomioka supports second rotations through resets; Urokodaki offers passive damage, efficiency, mask defense, and smoother progression. Both stay strong even though Water loses its old strict-stun safety.
  • Flame + Rengoku: My current all-round Slayer recommendation. Flame’s faster Z and held V give Rengoku’s damage and burn package more reliable openings in both PvP and PvE.
  • Thunder + Agatsuma: The V0.110 cast-speed and stun rebuff restores much of the pursuit build’s threat. Rice Spirit still lacks strict stun and now requires a short hold, so confirm it instead of treating every dash-in as guaranteed.
  • Wind + Shinazugawa: The standout high-skill specialist. Wind Z and V now create practical strict-stun confirms, letting the clan’s damage, movement, and stamina bonuses convert into real pressure.
  • Sound + Uzui: Enhanced Hearing’s wider 25% damage mark helps offset Sound’s weaker guard pressure. Musical Score still interrupts the attacker, but its longer cooldown and removed damage block demand much cleaner timing.
  • Stone + Himejima: A strong bruiser setup despite the clan nerfs. Stone gains a second-hit guardbreak and an armored ultimate, but its counter returns less often.
  • Insect + Kocho / Serpent + Iguro: Kocho’s new Poison Draw bonuses raise Insect’s ceiling, but slower moves and removed V invincibility make a failed entry costly. Iguro remains a strong Serpent duelist despite slower V startup and losing its Arena/Ranked death poison.
  • Shockwave or Pyrokinesis + Kamado/Soyama: Shockwave remains the safer control choice, while Pyrokinesis supplies the larger burst window. Kamado adds universal control and sustain; Soyama converts successful pressure but does not give Shockwave a second counter cooldown.
  • Group Demon builds + Shabana: Its zone and party passives still offer excellent coordinated value. Blood Manipulation and Sickles are much weaker in V0.17, so treat that pairing as a specialist route rather than the automatic team build.
  • General Slayer build + Firstlight Tanto: The safest universal weapon route for quick M1s, combo conversion, and high damage and block stats. Firstlight Spear is the stronger alternative when reach and AoE matter more.
  • General Demon build + Firstlight War Fans or Bladed Wagasa: War Fans offer the most complete package. Wagasa still adds Sun Immunity, mobility, and crowd clearing, but its V0.17 stun and guard-pressure nerfs make it the riskier PvP choice.
  • Blood Manipulation + Nightfall Sickles: Still the required specialist pairing, but no longer a priority meta recommendation. Both halves lose damage, scaling, block pressure, or confirm speed in V0.17, so Shabana support cannot recreate the old payoff.

Should You Reroll or Keep Your Current Build?

Keep a useful A-tier option while you progress. If its bonuses support your chosen style, a reroll is not automatically an upgrade. The same applies to weapons: a refined specialist that fits your kit can outperform a nominally higher-tier piece you have barely upgraded. Decide what you want from the replacement before spending. Chasing a famous surname or shiny V3 without a plan is an excellent way to become broke with lore.

For PvE, value repeatable damage, area coverage, and enough stamina to survive after the rotation ends. For PvP, distinguish strict stun from normal stun, i-frames from hyper armor, and a true guardbreak from ordinary guard damage. Several ultimates no longer continue after breaking guard, while the large gear-health increase gives opponents more chances to survive the opener. Global cooldowns and the shared counter timer make the second decision just as important as the first hit.

Slayers 2 Tier List FAQ

How many clans, Breathing Styles, Demon Arts, and weapons are in Slayers 2?

The current guide ranks 41 clans and eight Breathing Styles. The Demon section contains eight Blood Demon Arts plus Reaper for comparison, since Reaper is officially grouped under Fighting Styles. The dedicated weapon guide currently has 15 Demon Slayer placements and seven Demon weapon placements; a few universal weapon classes can be used by both sides.

Should you reroll an A-tier clan in Slayers 2?

Not automatically. A-tier specialists such as Agatsuma, Tomioka, Urokodaki, Iguro, and Kocho can still be excellent when their bonuses fit your build. Kocho's V0.17 mode buffs are a good example of why the complete pairing matters more than one tier letter.

Does an S-tier clan make every build S tier?

No. Some bonuses depend on a particular style, party, mode, weapon, or successful counter. Shinazugawa earns S through the current Wind pairing, while Uzui's Musical Score no longer blocks incoming damage and Soyama shares the universal counter cooldown. Judge the complete build.

Are Blood Demon Arts and Evil Arts the same thing?

Yes. Evil Arts is another name used for Blood Demon Arts in Slayers 2. Blood Manipulation is also known as Blood Sickle, while Tamari is sometimes spelled Temari.

Can I use an original Project Slayers tier list for Slayers 2?

No. Returning styles and arts have reworked kits, and the sequel has different clan and combat interactions. Use rankings for Slayers 2 rather than assuming the original game’s best picks still dominate.

What is the best Breathing Style in Slayers 2?

Flame is my early V0.17 overall pick, with Wind beside it in S tier. Flame has the broader PvP and PvE package after faster Z and held V animations, while Wind has the higher technical combo ceiling through new strict-stun confirms. Thunder leads A, followed by Water.

What is the best Blood Demon Art in Slayers 2?

Shockwave remains my early V0.17 pick, with Pyrokinesis joining it in S tier. Shockwave keeps its strict-stun conversion and armor-breaking counter despite lower block damage. Pyrokinesis is the stronger burst alternative after faster C pressure and 25% more Z damage.

What are the best weapons in Slayers 2?

Firstlight Tanto remains my best overall Demon Slayer weapon, with Firstlight Spear, Lost Shotgun, and Nightfall Katana completing S tier. Firstlight War Fans remain the best all-round Demon weapon, while Firstlight Bladed Wagasa keeps S provisionally despite weaker stun and guard pressure in V0.17.

What changed in the latest Slayers 2 balance update?

V0.17 changes all four build categories. Flame and Wind become the Breathing S tier; Pyrokinesis joins Shockwave in the Demon Art S tier; Water, Ice, Blood Manipulation, Sound, and Insect lose ground. Uzui, Kocho, and Iguro receive clan changes, several weapons are rebalanced, Fighting Styles gain base stats, and Max Health increases across all gear.

That covers the current V0.17 all-in-one rankings. Use the individual clan, Breathing, Demon Art, and weapon tier lists for complete move, stat, and matchup breakdowns, and visit our Slayers 2 guides hub for progression, NPC locations, and walkthroughs.
