The Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life update is finally here, and it has brought five new tall tales for us to complete. Tall Tales in the game can be started by going to specific areas on the map and interacting with the Quest Book for the Tall Tale. In the guide below, we explain where to find these books and how to use them to start the Tall Tales.
Before you can start the Tall Tales, you must first speak to the Mysterious Castaway, who can be found at any Outpost on the map at her Castaway Camp. It is in her camp that you will find the Quest Books for all five of the new Tall Tales. To begin one of these, you simply need to interact with them by pressing the primary action button on your controller/keyboard.

Since these Tall Tales are told in a sequence, you must do them in the correct order. The list below shows you what order is. To start the next part of the Tall Tale, simply find the book with the title that matches where you are in the list below.
- A Pirate's Life
- The Sunken Pearl
- Captain's of the Damned
- Dark Brethren
- Lords of the Sea
That's all there is to know about how to start the new Tall Tales! Thankfully, they're all close together. This makes playing through the whole story much easier!
