Can you rename your character in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4 is one of the best ARPG titles of today, bringing character creation to the next level with five fresh classes to play with. Choosing your character's class and modifying his appearance is an important part of the game because you'll deduce a lot of playing time as you level them up. When I created my first druid character, I couldn't think too hard about his name because I couldn't wait to get into the game, only to regret it later. Naturally, I wanted to change his name when I got a flash of a bright idea. But the question is, can you do it in the game?

Can you change your Diablo 4 character's name?

Unfortunately, Blizzard hasn't implemented the option to change your character's name in Diablo 4. So if you've found yourself in my situation, where I thought of a great character's name after finalizing their creation, you will, unfortunately, be in a position where you'll have to make a tough decision: starting all over again or keeping up with your decision. This nuisance is nothing new in the series, with Diablo 3 also having the problem of pitting players with the same dilemma.

Besides the character selection, you will also be able to see your character name only in campaign dialogues. Other players won't be able to see it, however; when playing with your friends on the same server, they will only see your title floating above your character's head.

Changing your character's Title in Diablo 4

The character's Title is the closest thing we can get to having a display name in Diablo 4, and unfortunately, it isn't fully customizable; you will never be able to define it in your own words inside the game. Instead, you can choose a prefix and a suffix from a list of pre-determined words. To change your Title, follow the steps below:

  1. Once in the game, press I on your keyboard or Start on your controller.
  2. Your character's Title is displayed under the name. If you haven't specified the Title, it will display "No Title selected."
  3. Click the Profile button underneath this text.
  4. Select Title in the new menu selection.
  5. Select the Edit option to edit your title.
  6. The Title menu will offer you two pools of names to choose from. At this point, select a word from each column to define your Title prefix and suffix.
  7. Select Confirm to save your selection.

Once you select your character's Title, it will be displayed above its head for other players to see from that point. Unlike your character's name, you will be able to change your Title as many times as you want.
