Sons of the Forest puts us in the brutal landscape fighting mutated monstrosities and hordes of cannibals to survive. But the game can really take a spin toward light-hearted fun as its numerous bugs and flaws soon became iconic with its player base. I always like cackling to a good meme now and then. So, without further ado, we are sharing our top ten Sons of the Forest we found in the internet jungle for you to enjoy!

10 - Sons of the Forest alone is scary but friends make it a party

Image via donksouls on 9GAG

Sons of the Forest multiplayer experience is known for being much easier and less scary to play than the single-player. This is true, mainly if your party includes a guy who knows all the weapon's locations or has written guides on them (like my party did with me!). Blood-curdling sounds at night become much less scary, with multiple shotguns being loaded as you and the boys go for a relaxing night hunt.

9 - Sons of the Forest Kelvin has no respect for other people's work

Treehouses are known as safe havens from all dangers in Sons of the Forest, and building them takes quite a while. It was both a comical and horrific sight to see Kelvin chop down the very tree you two have been working so hard on the building when you ordered him to get some firewood. The developers quickly patched this AI coding mishap, but it will forever remain immortalized as just one of those Kelvin things.

8 - The scariest jumpscare in Sons of the Forest

Sometimes your companions can scare you the most in Sons of the Forest, and Kelvin, being both a deaf and mute character that simply appears behind you or out of nowhere, can sometimes really scare the living daylights out of me. Since then, putting a GPS tracker on him has been my best decision.

7 - The walk-off with cannibals in Sons of the Forest

Image by Daily Dose Of Memes via YouTube

I've had multiple walk-offs with cannibals in Sons of the Forest, where we simply walked by each other without escalating the encounter. I was not looking for conflict due to being incredibly low on resources, and cannibals usually had no idea I completely raided and destroyed the village they were returning to. Everybody was happy at that moment, and needless to say, the Blue Magnum won.

6 - Shotguns are not overpowered in Sons of the Forest

Killing cannibals used to be quite challenging in Sons of the Forest, and groups of them used to terrify me because I knew they would quickly tear me apart if they rushed me simultaneously. The main dilemma I've had, admittingly for only a second, was whether the shotgun upset the horror and action balance too much. I quickly decided it didn't matter and pushed the Doom soundtrack button on my keyboard.

5 - Finally found the Shovel in Sons of the Forest

Image by Daily Dose Of Memes via YouTube

This one may not be as hilarious, but it rings true to all of us from the long Shovel search for the first time in Sons of the Forest. The Shovel is an integral item in the game, and the requirement for it comes up early in the gameplay, but actually finding it is not easy at all. The reward for your effort is the Shotgun. Hence this meme is so relatable.

4 - Killing Virginia in Sons of the Forest

This meme also resonates with me as the nights can really be dark in Sons of the Forest, and things can get mixed up. It is one of my more regrettable actions in the game, as it took me quite a while to figure out what I've actually done. I blame the Forest for indoctrinating me to kill mutants on the spot!

3 - Is the Sons of the Forest big enough for the Cannibals?

Image by Daily Dose Of Memes via YouTube

This meme destroyed what little fear of screaming cannibals was left when I discovered the Shotgun in Sons of the Forest. From this point on, I will always enter the forested areas whistling the famous tune from the video above.

2 - Deforesting the Sons of the Forest

Image by Daily Dose Of Memes via YouTube

This meme is both funny and true, as deforestation is a legitimate way to keep your camp safe from the tree-dwelling mud cannibals, especially early on in Sons of the Forest. They will still be able to attack you but will at least be within arm's or axe's reach.

1 - Becoming a cannibal in Sons of the Forest

It doesn't take a lot to change from being hunted to being the hunter in Sons of the Forest, and cannibalism can either be the ultimate way of asserting dominance over your enemies or a way to survive through the bad run. In my case, it was both. I don't like thinking about it too much.
