After Kelvin chops down the tree where you were building your treehouse, and dozens of logs fall to the ground, you know it's time for a change. Thankfully, you can turn off structure damage completely, preventing this situation from ever happening again. With building damage turned off, you can still alter structures, adding windows and doors as you wish. However, you don't have to worry about a stray axe swing bringing down your hard work. Here's how to turn off building damage in Sons of the Forest.
How do you disable structure damage in Sons of the Forest?
To turn off building damage, open the Options menu, then select the Gameplay tab. Under the Gameplay header, find the Structure Damage option, then switch it to Off. This prevents your built structures from sustaining damage of any kind. Even if the cannibals swing their weapons at your buildings, they will have no effect. On a similar note, if you toss explosives like Time Bombs or Molotov Cocktails near your structures, they will remain unharmed.

However, this also means that you cannot destroy misplaced structures using your axe. To cut down an inconveniently placed shelter, you must switch on Structure Damage momentarily, then turn it off after you're done. If you do not remember to turn Structure Damage off, you may end up with a pile of logs and a nonexistent treehouse, like us. We appreciate that Kelvin was trying to help, but he's going to start gathering sticks instead.
