How to earn Super Sea Snails in Splatoon 3

To earn Super Sea Snails in Splatoon 3, you must participate in Splatfest events. These Splatfest events frequently happen, and you'll earn Splatfest EXP by partaking. Earning more EXP and raising your Splatfest title means more Super Sea Snails you'll earn after the event ends.

You can also earn more Super Sea Snails by being on the winning team of Splatfest. Of course, even if you don't win, you'll earn some of this rare currency, just not as much. After Splatfest concludes, collect your Super Sea Snails from the booth in the Square in Splatoon 3.

What are Super Sea Snails used for in Splatoon 3?

Super Sea Snails are a rare currency that Murch uses to upgrade your gear in Splatoon 3. Merch can increase the star level of any gear for the price of Super Sea Snails, depending on the brand of the gear. The better the brand, the more Super Sea Snails required.

When a star level has been raised on a piece of gear, you will unlock a sub-ability slot, and EXP will be boosted for that gear. Super Sea Snails can also be used to re-roll some of the sub-abilities on your gear.

If you like the look of a piece of gear but are not fond of the abilities, you can use Murch to re-roll these abilities for something you prefer. However, this is random, so you may not get what you want. Yet, for all abilities removed, you'll receive Ability Chunks. When you have ten of an ability Ability Chunks, you can add that ability directly to a piece of gear.
