Splatoon 3 release date revealed, out September 9

Woomy returns.

One of the most popular new IPs from Nintendo in the past decade is the Splatoon franchise, and the latest entry in the Splatoon franchise, Splatoon 3, is set to launch on Apr. 22.

Nintendo announced that Splatoon 3 would launch on the Nintendo Switch on Sep. 9, 2022. The title was initially planned as a summer release for the Nintendo Switch but has seen a slight pushback to fall 2022. Splatoon 3 promises to expand upon previous entries with a new story mode, improved Salmon Run cooperative play, and tweaks to the prevalent multiplayer modes.

Nintendo revealed the official Splatoon 3 box art to Business Wire during the release date announcement, highlighting the new desert venue and some of the new ink-based weapons players can get their hands on in the upcoming entry.
