RPGs are well known for having romance in them. Get into relationships, have romantic dialogues, or even go further. One question on the mind of RPG fans is, does Star Ocean: The Divine Force have romance?
Is there romance in Star Ocean Divine Force?
No, there is no proper romance in Star Ocean: The Divine Force, but the coupling is semi-involved with Pairings. There is no dialogue or choices that set offer up romance on a platter. Instead, you acquire Relationship/Affection Points that determine the pairing of the ending you will get.
Pairings have been a series staple since Star Ocean 2. As you play, you may find character interactions called Private Actions. You can get a Pairing with any of the playable characters in the game, and if you pair with another guy. It's more like you're chilling with a friend instead of anything sexual or romantic.

Some of these interactions require choices, and the wrong choice can take away these points, but with the right choice, you gain them. You can get one of these Private Actions with Nina, called Full Body Check, where you are given a choice for her to examine you for being an off-worlder. This happens after returning to Delryk Village, after events at the Seaport of Rythal.
Most of these interactions are purely found by chance. You must backtrack most places, go in each door you can, and speak to all party members and most parts of the story to find them. So if you want to get a specific pairing with a specific party member, always be friendly to them.
