What does HIT mean in Star Ocean Divine Force?

It's time to be a combo master.

There’s a lot going on in Star Ocean: Divine Force that the game doesn’t explicitly tell you. Some of common examples are what certain terms and events mean. Before, we covered oddities about the AP gauge and how to keep it long. For this guide, we’ll teach you about HIT.

What is HIT in Star Ocean Divine Force?

Combos are a huge factor as to whether or not your enemies go down quickly, and HIT is what indicates how many combos you’ve chained. If you have an accessory that increases item drop rate when your HIT counter “is at 20 or above,” that means you have to chain 20 or more attacks before you get the reward. The rough part comes when you encourage equipment that needs 50, 100, or even 200 HITs.

How do I increase my HIT rate in Star Ocean Divine Force?

There are a couple of things you can do to increase your combo lengths in Star Ocean: Divine Force. However, the most important part is to keep your AP gauge up so you can continue to use your skills.

The default AP is five, but surprising enemies and blocking enemy attacks can raise those bars up to a maximum of 15. Once you have Nina, you'll have a ton of support skills to help you block. She also has Cheer of Bravery, which lets allies move faster, allowing them to chain more attacks.

However, be careful not to get hit in the middle of the battle. The number of AP bars decreases when you take damage. When a character runs out of AP, you can switch your main to another to continue your chain.

Additionally, you should try to adjust your button combos in the menu. When you get more characters, you can always opt to stick with the ones you use the most. Find the skills that you’re comfortable with and start racking up those HITs.
