Jedi Survivor PS5 Performance compared to PC and Xbox

It's bad.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor had its share of controversy on launch day, with many players complaining of performance issues across all platforms. The problems were especially prevalent on PC, with game crashes and frame stuttering, even on the most powerful gaming rigs. These issues even affected the user ratings on Steam platforms, with the game getting an Overwhelmingly Negative score. So, let's compare the PS5 performance of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to Xbox and PC.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor PS5 vs Xbox and PC performance comparison

The performance comparison of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PS5 vs. Xbox and PC is fairly complex but seemingly favors PS5. I have been playing the game on the PlayStation 5, and the experience has been relatively stable for me, albeit not without occasional frame drops and dips in smoothness. I have been playing the game on Performance mode exclusively, with Quality mode making the game nigh-unplayable for me due to low frame rates. All the while, the game just seemed graphically lacking, with characters feeling like they're made out of plastic.

I may not have encountered significant issues on the PS5, but my colleagues playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PC had a different story. One of them reported the game being unable to launch, while others have experienced framerate issues even with their rigs running RTX 4090 cards. Those who found the sweet spot, with the game running without major problems, told me that the graphics look slightly better than on PS5 Quality mode, at the cost of frames per second.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor PS5 vs Xbox comparison

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has similar graphical settings on both PS5 and Xbox, and it is a much closer performance comparison. You can switch between Performance and Quality modes on both consoles, and the game locks to 1440p resolution while keeping the frame rate at mostly stable 60 FPS in both cases. The downside to the Performance mode on both consoles is a lowered texture resolution and a lower draw distance in open areas.

In addition to the list of graphical nerfs the Performance mode brings to both consoles, the Xbox version also lacks ray-tracing. It gets an even bigger drop in textures, geometry, shadow quality, global illumination, post-processing, and reflections.

Which platform runs Star Wars Jedi Survivor best?

In conclusion, the platform that runs Star Wars Jedi: Survivor best is the PS5. Even the most powerful PC configurations have trouble maintaining stable frame rates and has issues with game crashes. Xbox Series has similar stuttering issues to PS5, even in Performance mode, all the while looking graphically inferior. How long it will take the developers to release the patch addressing these issues across platforms remains to be seen.
