If you want to make the rain totem in Stardew Valley, you will need to learn how to make truffle oil, so here's how to make it and more.
How to get Truffle Oil in Stardew Valley
To get truffle oil, you will need to make it from truffle mushrooms that only spawn from your pigs when they wander on your farm in spring, fall, and summer seasons. You will also need to craft an oil maker to make the truffle oil; you can make an oil maker when you reach level eight in the farming skill with the following resources.
- 50 Slime
- 20 Hardwood
- One Goldbar
When the oil maker is built, you will be able to place any truffles you get from your pigs when they wander outside their barn inside the oil maker; it will take a total of six hours for the truffles to turn into truffle oil. Once the truffle oil finishes cooking, you will be able to sell it for a base price of 1k and a bonus price of 1400k that various based on rarity type.
However, to get the truffles you need to make the truffle oil, you will need to get pigs. Luckily, pigs can be purchased from Marnie's Ranch for 16k gold after you get a Deluxe Barn. That being said, you can purchase the barn from Robin at the Carpenter's Shop for 25k gold and the following resources.
- 500 Wood
- 300 Stone
After you get Deluxe Barn, you will be able to house a total of 12 animals, including cows, goats, sheep, ostriches, and of course, the pigs you need for the truffles. That said, once you get the new barn, you will be able to get pigs, and once you purchase some pigs, just let them roam outside, and you should get truffles eventually.
However, if you have enough money, you can also try purchasing them from the traveling cart every so often, but the prices tend to lean towards the more expensive side of things. Because of this, we recommend simply going with the pig route, as you will make more in the long run that way.
