Super Robot Wars 30 may still be a week away from release, but Bandai Namco has already announced the first DLC content pack. Super Robot Wars 30 DLC 1 will add four additional series to the lineup, and a dozen new robots to use in-game.
The full list of series added by DLC 1:
- Voltes V
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children
- Sakura Wars Series
- Super Robot Wars OG Series
Voltes V is a classic super robot series from the 1970, whose titular sword-swinging robot will be the primary addition from this series. Voltes V is a staple of the Super Robot Wars series, and SRW30 is the ninth time mecha from the show will be seen in the games.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack - Beltorchika’s Children is a novelisation of the Char’s Counterattack movie. An alternative-retelling of the story, the most notable difference is the alternative mobile suits the protagonist, Amuro Ray, and antagonist, Char Aznable use. The Hi-ν Gundam and Nightingale are fan favorites and they’ll be the primary mobile suits added with this DLC.
The steampunk mecha of Sakura Wars are some of the most unique designs in the mech-combat genre. Their inclusion in SRW 30 is only the second time the series has made it into Super Robot Wars, despite their own game’s huge popularity with mecha fans.
Super Robot Wars OG or Original Generation are mecha from the sub-series of SRW. OG games use their own cast of characters and mechs instead of from well-known shows. Despite being just made up for the games, the OG character and robots have gathered enough popularity to make their inclusion in SRW 30 something notable!
Overall, seven new robots debuted in the DLC trailer. However, it's likely more than the displayed seven will make it into the final DLC. The DLC releases in November.
