How to stagger enemies in Tales of Arise

Here's how to stagger enemies in Tales of Arise.

If you want to stagger enemies in Tales of Arise, you will first and foremost need to have high penetration. The more penetration you have, the higher chance your attacks will penetrate enemy armor and stagger them.

When you have high penetration, you will stagger enemies by continuously landing hits on them. Eventually, if you hit them hard and fast enough, they will become staggered and defenseless.

However, certain enemies will be strong against penetration because they either have high endurance or high defense. In these cases, the chances of staggering them are very low, and you will have more luck with weaker enemies in the game.

If you want to learn what enemies are weak and strong against penetration, you can always view the enemy info page under the field guide.

You can find the field guide by clicking the menu button or pressing ESC, then when you find the field guide, press it, and enemy info will be under the list of options.

Under enemy info, you can find out if an enemy has high resistance by viewing a shield icon below their elemental resistances; for example, see the image below.

In this image, we can see that the Cyslodia Heavy Spearman has a total resistance of 324. What this means is that this enemy will most likely be highly resistant towards penetration and your attacks.

To combat this, you will need to raise your penetration by making pierce accessories that can raise your penetration by 30% percent. Making better weapons and leveling up is also another way to increase your penetration, and once you have high penetration, you will be able to stagger enemies.
