Special Style in Tekken 8 - how to turn it off

Special Style is an interesting Tekken 8 mode that makes gameplay more accessible to newcomers. You can toggle between Special Style and typical playstyle by pressing the left shoulder button on your controller (LB on Xbox or L1 on PlayStation). That way, you can switch between two playstyles depending on your match. This option is handy for learning the ropes, but I recommend turning it off when you get the hang of it so you can have a full Tekken 8 experience.

How to use Special Style Moves in Tekken 8

After activating Special Style in Tekken 8, you can efficiently perform flashy moves. Pressing X/Square will start Heat Engager, an offensive drive that consumes Heat gauge. By combining direction buttons and X/Square, you can do various flashy combos. The Y/Triangle button initiates Air Combos, which you can perform by pressing the same button or combining it with X/Square.

The A/X button activates Power Crush, much like Parry in Street Fighter games. Finally, the B/Circle button is used for low attacks. Low attacks can counter Power Crushes and blocks. However, combining directional buttons with the B/Circle button will result in a throw.

Should I use a Special Style option in Tekken 8?

You should use Special Style in Tekken 8, at least initially, as it's an excellent way to learn how to use combos before practicing button combinations. As you may expect, using Special Style is frowned upon in competitive circles but is still great for learning and casual fun.
