How to make Linen Threads with a Spinning Wheel in Valheim

If you want to make the best armor in the game, you will need to make a spinning wheel and use it to make linen threads; here's how and what you will need.

How to make a Spinning Wheel | How to make Linen Threads

To use a spinning wheel to make linen threads, you will first need to make a spinning wheel with the following resources listed below; you will also need to have an artisan table crafted and place nearby.

  • 20 Finewood
  • Ten Iron Nails: You can make these inside a forge once you get Iron from a smelter for the first time.
  • Five Leather ScrapsKill pigs or mine muddy scrap piles for leather scraps.

Once you got the materials listed above, grab a hammer and right-click it near your artisan table; you can find a spinning wheel under crafting, and to place it, all you need to is to left-click it once and again to place it.

When you have placed your newly crafted spinning wheel, you can make linen threads with it by throwing flax inside the opening shown below. To get flax, you will need to go to the plains biome and explore; flax can be found both growing naturally in fuling villages.

However, before going near these fuling villages, it is worth noting that fulings are incredibly deadly creatures, so we recommend bringing your best weapons and armor before facing them.

Regardless, inside the villages, you can get up to 15 to 20 already planted flax, but not all the time, and sometimes you might find barley instead.

When this happens, you will need to search even more villages; but when you do finally find some flax, you can then use it to make linen threads with a spinning wheel. Once you got linen threads, you will be able to make several items including the best armor in the game, padded armor.
