Considering that the new max level in Phase 1 of Season of Discovery is only 25, Blizzard has promised to lower the costs of respecing your toons. So how different are the costs between respecs in Classic and in Phase 1 of SoD?
Phase 1 WoW SoD Respec costs
Traditional World of Warcraft Classic respecing, or the ability to reset your spent talent points in the talent tree, is pricey. Most of the time, you will want a whole different spec while you are leveling versus when you are max level, so you will almost always need to respec at least once. In vanilla, the respecing costs were as follows:
Related: Why are there so few of each kind of realm in WoW Season of Discovery?
- The first respec costs 1 gold.
- The second costs 5g.
- Third: 10g
- The cost goes up 5g each time, then caps at 50g.
- For each month of real time you don't respec, the cost goes down 5g to a minimum of 10g.
Considering you will only be level 25 at max level in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery Phase 1, Blizzard shifted around these costs to be more in line with the amount of money we'll have access to. Considering how much gold we'll all have at 25, everyone playing SoD will be happy to see that it's been changed to:
- The first respec in SoD costs 10 silver.
- Each respec adds an additional 10s, to a maximum of 1g.
- While WoW SoD hasn't been out long enough to know what the shrink rate will be, we can probably expect it to be 10s a month like it was in Classic.
