World of Warcraft Classic doesn't have many of the bells and whistles you'll find in the more updated version of the game, and that's where addons come into play. Here are some the best addons you can install for WoW Classic.
Best addons to use for WoW Classic
There are a lot of addons available in WoW Classic, and what you use will come down to personal preference. If you want the game to look more modern, you can certainly go down that path. For a lot of people, including me, you want to keep the classic look and feel. That means you would want to avoid addons that change up the UI in a big way.
1. Questie
Questie is the bread and butter is WoW Classic addons. This will add quest markers for you to follow so you won't be lost while questing in the world. If you have to install just one addon, this would be it.
2. Bagnon
In Retail WoW, your bags are combined into one big bag that makes organization much easier. In Classic WoW, your bags are all separated. This becomes especially annoying when you have a bunch of them to sift through. Downloading Bagnon will make your inventory show up in one giant, so it's a good addon to have.
3. Bartender4
If you want to change the way your hotbars look, you can do so with the Bartender4 addon. This gives you complete control over the layout of your bars, and it's very easy to use.

4. Rarescanner
People looking to track down high valuable targets or hidden treasures in the world will benefit from Rarescanner. This addon will alert you to when you're near something worth checking out.
5. WeaponSwingTimer
Knowing when you're about to swing your weapon means a lot in WoW Classic, and you can pick up an addon that will let you know when it's happening. WeaponSwingTimer adds another bar to your screen that'll allow you to time up your abilities with your auto attack swings.
6. LittleWigs
If you don't like having to guess when an enemy is about to use an ability in a dungeon, you can use LittleWigs that'll let you know what's coming ahead of time. This is especially nice to have if it's your first time going through the content.
7. BigWigs
BigWigs is just like LittleWigs except instead of being for dungeons, it's for raids. Most people who download one will download the other, so it's best to grab them both as a package deal.
8. OmniCC
If you're doing a lot of group content, it's nice to have an idea of when your cooldowns will be ready to use again. This addon will make that easy to track by putting a countdown right on your hotbar.
9. Auctioneer
If you want an idea of what something's going for on the auction house without having to actually go to it, then the Auctioneer addon is for you. You can check the going rate of the item right from your inventory with this downloaded.
10. Details
The Details addon is good for raid leaders as you'll want to keep track of who is pulling their weight in a fight versus who isn't by looking at damage and healing numbers. You can also use it to track your own numbers because everybody likes topping the charts.
11. TomTom
A lot of directions in WoW Classic are given using X,Y coordinates, and that's done with the TomTom addon. It'll be easy to link directions to your party or guild using this addon, so it's a nice one to have.
12. WeakAuras
This one feels like a bit of cheat code, but WeakAuras allows you to do all sorts of things. If you need to have all of the information about a fight, you can likely find a community-made WeakAura for it. Just search online for one and import the string into the addon. Keep in mind that installing too many of them will greatly slow down your game performance, so make sure your PC can handle it.
How to install addons in WoW Classic
The easiest way for me to install an addon in WoW Classic, and WoW in general, is through the CurseForge app. Just go to the website, install the app, and then search for your addons. They automatically install, so there's no need to tinker with any game files.
The installed addons will be managed from within the game itself through icons around your minimap. You can also access them through addon-specific shortcuts that'll be given to you when you install the addon.
