It isn't often that Blizzard adds brand-new stats into the game with updates. To be honest, I can't think of the last time such a thing has happened in the game's history, but with 10.1.5, that has seemed to change. The name of the game is Timestrike, and it's more than just some green text proc effect. Here's everything you need to know about it.
How does Timestrike work in WoW Dragonflight?
When Timestrike procs, it deals two instances of damage. The first instance is when it initially activates, dealing damage the moment it applies its debuff on the target. The second instance is three seconds after once the debuff expires. Both instances of damage are based on the amount of the Timestrike stat you have at the moment of activation.
Timestrike is a very interesting new stat that I assume is an experiment for Blizzard. It functions similarly to any old proc (automatic special ability activation) you might get from a trinket or weapon, but the difference is that it is a real stat that can appear on weapons from the new mega-dungeon, Dawn of the Infinite.

The potential for this stat is massive. While normal procs come and go as you replace gear, Blizzard could start using custom stats like Timestrike to maintain powerful effects that players enjoy over the long term. This is why I called it an experiment, much like how Dragon Flying was at the start of the Dragonflight. Now Dragon Flying is being added to other parts of the game, and I hope Timestrike follows suit. It sets a good precedence for stat gearing in WoW's future.
