World of Warcraft has always been known for its mod-friendliness. These mods and add-ons run the gamut of everything from quest helpers, trackers, and even UI enhancements. One of the more popular user interfaces for WoW has been ElvUI. It allows users to customize their interface much like the system in Final Fantasy XIV. However, it doesn't matter how handy a mod is if it doesn't do a core job, like showing the action bars.
ElvUI Action Bars not displaying in World of Warcraft
There are a few troubleshooting methods for action bars not showing up with ElvUI.
- First, try checking if an update is available for ElvUI by checking the Add-Ons button at the character select screen. This will be in the bottom left corner of the screen. If so, close World of Warcraft and launch either Tukui to check for updates or head directly to ElvUI's download page.
- Check that there isn't a conflict with one of the many ElvUI plugins available. Sometimes mods don't play well with one another and can knock something out. These can be checked by disabling all and re-enabling them one by one to find the culprit.
- If the current version is up-to-date and there doesn't appear to be a conflict with another plugin, double-check that the action bar itself hasn't been accidentally disabled.
- If these haven't resolved your issue, check the support page for ElvUI to see if it might be a larger issue or to submit a help ticket.

Players should always be a little cautious when modding a game as there is often a much more limited support system if there's one at all. Many mods are made by an individual or a small team of passionate players. So, should something go down, finding a fix might turn into waiting for a fix or going back to the base game functionality until a fix is rolled out.
