How to clear Kadaunar Shrine (Water Makes a Way) in Zelda TotK (Tears of the Kingdom)

Cool it!

If you are looking to build up your maximum hearts or stamina quickly, shrine are what to aim for. There are 152 of them scattered around Hyrule, including in the Sky Islands. One Sky Island Shrine you may not reach for a while is Kadaunar Shrine, nearby the north east corner of the map. Here's how to reach it and clear it.

Kadaunar Shrine can be found on Cruciform Island almost directly above Eldin Canyon Sky view Tower. The easiest way to reach it is to shoot up from the tower and glide to the farthest island collected by rail. Use your Ultra hand to craft some carts, and travel along the rails until you reach the shrine. You should only encounter a few Zonai Constructs to challenge you here.

You may also want to think about using the Shrine as a convenient teleport waypoint later. It has a convenient Zonai Device Dispenser with Big Wheels, Batteries, and Hydrants you can pick up. You can also farm Sundelions in this area.

The first Lava trap you'll come across is fairly self-explanatory. You'll need to use the nearby Hydrant to create a path across. Since the Lava isn't flowing, this is fairly easy to do. I found the simplest way was to turn the hydrant on, pick it up, then let it create a bridge for me as I went.

There are two methods to reach this chest. The first is probably the simplest, but the second can be used in many other scenarios, and is also worth mentioning. It only holds a Strong Construct Bow, so if you are maxed out on bows, this may not even be worth bothering with.

The easy way to reach the chest is to use your Ultrahand ability to use the blocks you just created to cross the lava and make a ramp over this trap.

Second way to reach the optional chest in Kadaunar Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Let's say you only used one platform to cross the trap. What could you do? The way that I initially used to reach the chest is a trick that I frequently use to lift Link and glide. Use Ultrahand to lift any platform up to the desired height, then bring it down and hold it just above the ground for several seconds (I count to ten.) Let it go, then use the Rewind ability on the platform. This will give you several seconds to hop on the platform, wait for it to lift in the air, then jump and glide to wherever you need to reach.

There are several different ways to handle this challenge, and even two nearby Hydrants, one of which I didn't need. My method for creating a bridge in this scenario was to start by placing one Hydrant on the far side of the bridge toward the end of the shrine.

As it created rock platforms, I waited until the first one was just about to fall off the edge, then casted Rewind on it. This brought the platform back to it's original place and pushed the other stone slabs into a bridge formation. I didn't even need to use Ultrahand; I simply hopped across and claimed my Light of Blessing.
