What To Do If You’re Stuck In A Well in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

Let me out of here!

Did you forget your tutorial lessons already? Don't worry, I'd be lying if I said The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom didn't stump me every once in a while, too. One fun thing you can do is dive down wells in Hyrule to see what lies below. Don't have enough stamina to climb back out? There is an easier way to get back out than climbing or even building yourself a fancy device. Here's what I would do.

How to get out of a well in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The simplest way to get out of any well is to use the Ascend ability. You learn about it in the Third Shrine you visit on Great Sky Island. Hold down the L button and push the right joystick up to use it. You should see a light green circle on the ceiling above you, and you can pass through to the surface above.

Are you really stuck in a well in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Before you make a hasty escape, I'd encourage you to take some time and observe your surroundings. You may not be as stuck as you think. For example, when I dove down the Well at the Hudson Construction Site, I nearly missed a breakable rock wall that I then exploded using bomb flowers fused to arrows. It's a good thing I kept going, because I then found enough Zonai capsules to make a quick car on the go, if I ever needed to. Make sure you're not in a similar situation.
