In Super Robot Wars 30, your character's birthday is one of the first things you get to choose when you start the game. And while this might seem like a really simple choice to start off with, it actually has a big effect on your game.
The birthday affects your character’s star sign. Depending on a character’s star sign and blood type combination, they’ll have access to different spirit commands as they level up.
For instance, you're assigned to the Taurus star sign for the default birthday for both protagonists, April 20th. Combined with Az's (the female protagonists' default name) blood type of A, you'll start with the Intuition spirit, unlock Spirit at level 10, Focus at level 15, Charge at level 20, and resolve at level 40 and Soul at level 55.

New players' good starting birthday and blood type combination is the 11th of November and B type blood. This is a cheat code of sorts that gives you a great set of spirits, at lower levels and for lower costs. This birthday and blood type combination was the same as one of Super Robot Wars' original producers and is an easter egg for players.
The blood type and star signs affecting your stats are related to the personality theory and zodiac horoscopes. So changing your birthday in-game can affect the way the game plays out.
However, don’t be too worried about this in your first playthrough. Choosing specific spirit commands to fine-tune your character isn’t needed to complete the game on the lower difficulties. But at harder difficulties, the right spirits can help you out of some tight jams.
Blood type and Birthday are just a few of the big decisions you'll have to make as you start Super Robot Wars 30. Check out What are the differences between the protagonists in Super Robot Wars 30?
