God of War is a departure from previous entries in the series, switching to Norse mythology and taking a more open-world approach than its predecessors. Keeping in line with many open-world Role-Playing-Games, and the Norse mythos, armor is an important mechanic in God of War—Kratos' armor is crafted by dwarves, and it's the main source of increasing his stats during the game.
There are a pretty heft number of armor options for players to choose from in God of War, and each one gives Kratos a pretty unique aesthetic and offers protection. But the armor that provides the most utility and the best improvement to stats is the Mist armor found in Niflheim. Here's a breakdown of the different types of Mist armor, the best armor in God of War.
Mist Armor
Players can craft Mist armor after gaining access to Ivaldi's Workshop in Niflheim. While exploring inside Ivaldi's Workshop, players will accumulate a crafting ingredient called Mist Echoes by defeating enemies and opening chests. These Mist Echoes are used as the main ingredient in crafting and upgrading Mist armor, among other things, so players should attempt to collect as many as they can on each journey into the workshop.
As with most armor, all of the Mist armor sets include three pieces crafted. Each piece starts at Level Seven and can be upgraded three times, making it the strongest armor to exist in God War currently. The stats of the Mist armor that can be crafted are as follows:
Deadly Mist Armor
The Deadly Mist armor set increases the amount of time that Kratos can survive while exploring the mists of Niflheim and grants him a small amount of constant health regeneration if the full set is worn. It's the most well-balanced of the three sets, and each piece has three enchantment sockets.
