How many Old Verse items can you find in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

A wise person once said...

Many players of Pokémon Legends: Arceus are finding that the game expands on the Lore of the Pokémon universe, which is something we've been asking for while they are remaking all the old games. One way that Arceus does this is with the Old Verse key items.

There are 20 of these Old Verse texts that you can collect throughout the game.

What are the Old Verse items?

As you play the game, you find that the Diamond and Pearl Clans both have specific religious views regarding The Ancient Sinnoh. You can speak to members of each clan to see their views on the topic, which also provides a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Pokémon universe as it takes form in the Hisui region.

The clans' views on The Ancient Sinnoh and the Old Verse items both serve to expand on the lore and explain how everything came to be in Hisui. Collecting all the details and the Old Verses throughout the game does not provide any benefits for the player, but it certainly provides you with more context to the Diamond and Pearl clans' motives.

Ultimately, the Old Verses are key items that provide an extra layer of immersion into the world of Pokémon. If Game Freak (the game's developer) follows the trend of previous Pokémon games, this information provided by the Old Verses could play a major part in future games!
