Chapter 7, Part 2: Not a Word, My Friend Battle Guide – Triangle Strategy

Aesfrost's regiments will come in three waves.

Triangle Strategy's Chapter VII, Part II: Not a Word, My Friend opens at Wolffort Streets, where you await General Avlora after your party decided not to surrender Roland to Aesfrost. A new battle, General Avlora's Assault, will commence once you choose your units. To win, "decimate all enemy forces." To lose, you'll have to see your last ally perish.

Save before this fight, since you do not want to risk using the Hawk statuettes. If you activate even one, the Golden Route Ending becomes unavailable. Along with saving, make sure to level your characters to the recommended 11 using the Mental Mock Battles at the Encampment. Use the spoils, especially from Hossabara's latest available battle, to upgrade the weapon ranks of your strongest fighters. Stock up with accessories and enough HP Recovery Pellets from Lionel.

Also, take this chance before battle to strengthen useful new characters who have appeared to you, depending on Serenoa's Convictions. Narve, Archibald, and Julio, for instance, all bring serious strengths. Narve not only knows fire, ice, thunder, and wind magic, he can also heal multiple units with his Sanctuary ability. Archibald, though slow, has devastating arrow-attack abilities that damage multiple targets.

Julio grants allies additional TP while raising allies' attack and magic attack stats. He can also steal enemies' TP while inflicting damage. Bottom line: he's a great stand-in for Benedict's status-enhancing abilities, but he deals more damage—and he deals in TP. Also bring a heavy hitter with high defense, like Erador, as well as Geela, whose healing and Haste abilities will be invaluable.

The battle will commence with immediate reinforcements, but don't let them intimidate you. Don't advance any one unit too far, except maybe Anna. Use her Take Cover ability, and take advantage of her two commands per turn to wreak havoc unseen. And definitely make sure you have Hughette to attack and blind foes from the rooftops.

How to Defeat General Avlora

As you begin to strike down enemy units, a second regiment of two level-11 Shieldbearers will arrive from the middle side, along with two level-11 bowmen behind Avlora. Once you take down a few more units, a third and final regiment of reinforcements will arrive, also in two groups—three Sheildbearers and a Bowman from the top side, behind where you started, as well as a Shieldbearer and Blade in the bottom corner, opposite Avlora.

Avlora is at level 15, and her Immunity Amulet protects her from status conditions like Blindness. It will take a while to whittle down her high HP, so keep using your strongest attacks on her until she falls. Heal frequently, whether with pellets or spells. If you're trying to keep from destroying the hawk statuettes, be extra careful not to accidentally hit one with a magic attack or an arrow. Collect all the spoils, and you'll be rewarded with a Medal of Bravery when you win.
