Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the newest titles in the Pokémon series, and it has many new features, including Pokémon, characters, and more. But, each entry builds on the previous titles, typically bringing back many mechanics. This may leave you wondering about some of those and whether or not Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have breeding.
Does Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have Breeding?
There isn't a clear answer, but there is evidence supporting that breeding has been removed from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. One of the many leaks suggests that breeding has been removed and replaced with the Picnic feature. Picnics are great ways to rest up with your Pokémon, but you also have a chance to find Pokémon eggs with this feature.
The leak further suggests that eggs will be hatched with incubators, similar to Pokémon GO, instead of simply walking with the egg in your party. We don't know exactly how eggs, Picnics, and incubators will work, but these suggest breeding is no longer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Granted, this is speculation, and breeding may still exist in addition to obtaining eggs from Picnics.
Breeding was removed from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but that was not a mainline game, and breeding has been in each mainline title since its including in Pokémon Gold and Silver. We will have to wait for more information on The Pokémon Company before we know for certain.
