This is less of a mod and more of a total game changer! If you're ready to really up to your machinery, then you can add Mekanism as your next game modification. If you want a totally new experience in Minecraft, this mod will help you do it.
Neat
If you're tired of the same old Minecraft UI, then Neat is a mod that will modernize it for you. Neat cleans up the old Minecraft UI and adds cleaner health bars to mobs. We recommend installing Neat for a much less cluttered experience.
Storage Drawers
The Storage Drawers mod will give you a bunch of different options for storing the many items you can find and make in Minecraft. You can create storage with multiple different sizes and have a bunch of different drawers. The following are some examples of the sizes of drawers included in the mod:

AppleSkin
If you're a hardcore Survival player, then you probably know the struggle of keeping yourself fed and saturated. However, this process can be made a lot simpler with the AppleSkin mod! Instead of just seeing your hunger status, you will now visualize your saturation level. This gives you more information on when and what you'll need to eat. When you select a food item, it will also display how much hunger and saturation it will replenish!
Xaero's Minimap
If you don't want to bother with maps in Minecraft that can be a bit unwieldy, then grabbing yourself a minimap is a good idea. Xaero map mod's version is quite good and keeps the spirit of Minecraft within its design. I really love map mods because I tend to explore quite a few seeds, and they make things a lot easier. If you want to go even further, you can also get Xaero's World Map to give yourself more viewing space.
Gravestone Mod
The Gravestone Mod is a helpful addition to Minecraft, as it gives you a gravestone that will contain all of the items you had on you after you die. Once installed, you will be able to find your gravestone after death by following coordinates to its location. When you find the gravestone, destroy it, and it will drop all of your loot.
Fast Leaf Decay (Forge)
Fast Leaf Decay is a cool mod that changes the rate at which leaves decay. Instead of sticking around for a while, leaves will now disappear over time faster. With Fast Leaf Decay installed, leaves will only take about five seconds to evaporate from existence. Add this mod if you were annoyed with the previous rate at which leaves would decay.
Iron Chests
Iron Chests is a very popular mod that adds the ability to create a ton of different chests of various qualities with a lot more storage potential! There are chests you can make out of dirt, iron, gold, diamond, obsidian, and much more.
Just Enough Items
Just Enough items is a very popular mod that allows you to see the recipes and everything required for crafting a particular item. It has a great search system and even allows you to search items from other mods!
Macaw's Bridges
Macaw's Brdiges is a fairly simple mod. It adds a pretty nifty feature to the game. While you would normally be stuck creating your own bridge, this mod will give you some beautiful-looking blocks to create ones with. They can be all of the different wood types and utilize a fair amount of the different stones available in the game. If you like striking a nice look and feel to your world, then you will want to have some beautiful-looking bridges!
Miner's Helmet
If you want to give yourself an authentic mining feel, why not head into the caves with a mining helmet. Miner's Helmet adds a new helmet to Minecraft that you can don to illuminate the dark areas you are exploring. If you don't want to craft it yourself, you can always seek out some zombies who can spawn with the helmet and an iron pickaxe!
How-to Install Mods
First, you will need to have a PC version of Minecraft. Not only that, you will need to have the Java version of the game. If you have the Windows 10 version, there are some very limited addons you can install, but they aren't anywhere near the mods that can be added to the Java version. Now that you have that squared away, you will want to download Forge, which has been updated for 1.16. Make sure to download the Installer version unless you have a good idea of what you're doing. That will automatically install it into your Minecraft folder, and you will be able to launch the Forge version from the Minecraft launcher.
Go ahead and launch Minecraft, you will now see a Mods selection on the first screen you see when you open up Minecraft. Click on that then click on the Open Mods Folder button at the bottom left corner. You can now just drop any mods you download right into that folder and manage them in the game with Forge!
