How to destroy the poison totems in God of War Ragnarok

Make the garden bloom!

From the very beginning of the game, God of War Ragnarok has players completing tricky and confusing puzzles. This remains true throughout the game, and later on, puzzles can become truly difficult to figure out. One of the puzzles that can give players some trouble is the one associated with the Favor titled Garden for the Dead, located in Vanaheim. In this Favor, players will need to clear out Poisonous Totems to regrow a Garden.

How to complete Garden for the Dead Favor in God of War Ragnarok

There are a total of three Poison Totems that Kratos must destroy to make the Garden come alive again. These Totems can be frozen using the Leviathan Axe, but to complete the Favor, they need to be fully destroyed. This can only be done by locating the explosive container nearest to the Totems and igniting it using the Leviathan Axe.

Poison Totem #1

The first Totem (left) can be destroyed by going around to the back left side of the Totem where players should see the explosive container (right) exposed behind some debris.

Poison Totem #2

The second Totem (left) will require players to climb up a wall (at the arrow in the left image). From the top of this structure, players should have a clear shot at a breakable panel (right) that, when broken, will ignite the explosive container and destroy the Totem.

Poison Totem #3

For the third and final Totem (left), players should simply move around to the right of the totem to see an explosive container exposed through a hole. Throw the Leviathan Axe through the hole to destroy the Totem.

How to open the gate to the Legendary Chest in Noatun's Garden in God of War Ragnarok

Opening the Legendary Chest in this area is no easy feat, but players should be able to accomplish it by following the steps provided below:

1. To start off, players should locate the open window of the room containing the Legendary Chest. Through the window, they will spot a counterweight responsible for keeping the door shut being held up by a breakable panel (inside the circle in the image above). This is what Kratos needs to shift in order to gain access to the Chest. Players should shoot Freya's Sigil Arrows at the two X's on the image above. Two arrows on each X will give players the best chance of reaching it later in the puzzle.

2. Once players have placed the Sigils on the X's in step #1, they should then go around to the front of this structure and place another Sigil on the X marked in the image above. This should connect up to the other two Sigils placed inside. Players should be able to tell by how bright the central symbol on the Sigil is. Once this Sigil is placed, use Kratos' Blades of Chaos to burn the one nearest to the outside. There should be a chain reaction, burning the brambles inside holding the counterweight in place.

3. Once steps #1 and #2 are done, players can return to the original window where they have a clear shot of the breakable panel shown in the image above. Throw the Leviathan Axe at this panel to open the door and gain access to the Legendary Chest inside.
