Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Greenery Chapter is a rerun of Genshin Impact's first photography event, where you must help an Inazuman illustrator named Asagiri find inspiration for drawing light novel artwork. The event runs from November 16, 2022, to December 5, 2022, and involves taking photos based on Asagiri's prompts all over Teyvat.

How to unlock the Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Greenery Chapter event in Genshin Impact

You need to complete the following prerequisites to unlock the event:

Reach Adventure Rank 30 or above.
Complete the Ritou Escape Plan segment of Archon Quest Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia.
Complete the World Quest called Snapshots (obtain the Kamera Gadget).
Optional: Complete Yoimiya's Story Quest Carassius Auratus Chapter: Act I - Dreamlike Timelessness.
Optional: Complete Tartaglia's Story Quest Monoceros Caeli Chapter: Act I - Mighty Cyclops' Adventure!

You can start the event even without completing the optional prerequisites by clicking on the Quick Start button on the event menu.

Day 1: Pathological Author

Follow these steps to complete the Pathological Author photography challenge located in Gandharva Ville:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to an Anemo character.
Activate the Anemo character's Elemental Skill and immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget.

Day 1: Shadow Over Luhua Pool

Follow these steps to complete the Shadow Over Luhua Pool photography challenge, located west of Luhua Pool in Liyue:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure two Photo-Taking Points are visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to a Geo character.
Wait for the Geo character to enter their idle animation. When it starts, immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget.

Day 2: Seventeen Fleets

Follow these steps to complete the Seventeen Fleets photography challenge north of Port Ormos:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any catalyst user.
Start walking or running with the catalyst user, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget (while they're still walking or running).

Day 2: She Still Lingers in This World Where I Have Faded

Follow these steps to complete the She Still Lingers in This World Where I Have Faded photography challenge, located in Chinju Forest:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any bow user.
Initiate a Charged Attack using the bow user, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before releasing the attack.

Don't forget to talk to Tartaglia and Yoimiya nearby to initiate the hidden event story.

Day 3: The Rockeater: Cloud Devouring

Follow these steps to complete The Rockeater:

Cloud Devouring photography challenge, located in Guyun Stone Forest.
The photo-taking location is a little hard to get to. Teleport to the Domain of Guyun, then face the cave entrance. Turn left and climb the mountain (outside the cave, not inside) to find the photo-taking spot.

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Liyue character.
Initiate a Normal Attack using the Liyue character, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before releasing the attack.

Day 3: Please! It's the Mushrooms!

Follow these steps to complete the Please! It's the Mushrooms! photography challenge, located in Mawtiyima Forest:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any sword user.
Initiate the sword user's Elemental Skill, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget while the Skill is still active.

Day 4: Historia Naturalis Sumeru

Follow these steps to complete the Historia Naturalis Sumeru photography challenge located in Chinvat Ravine:

Choose any preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Hydro character.
Initiate the Hydro character's Normal Attack, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before the attack animation ends.

Day 4: Legend of the Wind Knight III

Follow these steps to complete the Historia Naturalis Sumeru photography challenge in Stormterror's Lair:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any character from Monstadt.
Initiate the Monstadt character's Elemental Skill, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget while the Skill is still active.

Day 5: My Archaeological Notes

Follow these steps to complete the My Archeological Notes photography challenge, located south of Dar al-Shifa:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any polearm user.
Initiate the polearm user's Normal Attack, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before the attack animation ends.

Day 5: The Seventh Samurai

Follow these steps to complete The Seventh Samurai photography challenge, located in Chinju Forest:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Electro character.
Initiate the Electro character's Elemental Skill, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget while the Skill is still active.

Don't forget to talk to Tartaglia and Yoimiya nearby to initiate the hidden event story.

Day 6: Wind-Dial

Follow these steps to complete the Wind-Dial photography challenge, located in the Thousand Winds Temple:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any sword or claymore user.
Initiate the sword or claymore user's Charged Attack, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before the attack animation ends.

Day 6: Witness in the Sand

Follow these steps to complete the Witness in the Sand photography challenge, located in Aaru Village:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Dendro character.
Start walking or running with the Dendro character, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget while still in motion.

Day 7: Unsubstantiated Law

Follow these steps to complete the Unsubstantiated Law photography challenge, located near Sobek Oasis:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Pyro character.
Wait for the Pyro character's idle animation to start, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget before the animation ends.

Day 7: Wangshu Inn

Follow these steps to complete the Wangshu Inn photography challenge, located west of Wangshu Inn:

Choose any of the preset Kamera angles and adjust the view to your liking.
- Make sure one Photo-Taking Point is visible.
- When you're satisfied, click Enter to save the settings.
Switch to any Cryo character.
Initiate the Cryo character's Elemental Skill, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera Gadget while the Skill is still active.
