How to use Food as Furniture in Dreamlight Valley

How to turn food into furniture in Disney Dreamlight Valley

While the game will not explain it to you, you can use almost any item from your inventory, including food and crafting materials in furniture mode by dropping it on the ground first. To do so, open your Inventory menu, then select whatever item you want to place as a piece of furniture. If the drop down menu has the option Drop, select it. You'll see the item drop at your feet.

From there, open up your Furniture menu, then collapse the menu by using the prompted button next to the center, left arrow (on PC this is F) Your cursor will become a hand which you can then use to move any item that you dropped on the ground: food, fish, gemstones, you name it. Depending on the size, most items can be placed on top of countertops and tables. The only items that can not be used this way are specific quest items.

There are plenty of examples of items being used both cosmetically and functionally. This Reddit post shows how a player used inventory items to organize a room full of storage chests. Another player used a variety of food items to help create this atmospheric dining experience.
