Overwatch 2 Patch Notes (March 7th, 2023) – Wrecking Ball nerfed

No more unexpected Minefield deaths, hopefully.

The beginning of Overwatch 2 Season 3 saw loads of Tank players switch to Wrecking Ball, who not only got armor but a very quick arming time for Minefield. The recent patch in Overwatch 2 addressed this issue, while making minor changes to other characters as well as changing matchmaking.

Wrecking Ball

  • A specific mode has been added for relative aim sensitivity while rolling. This becomes relative gyro sensitivity when played on the Nintendo Switch.
  • Grappling Claw now has a timeout indicator above the ability icon.

In addition to all that, Blizzard changed matchmaking to where they will match parties with similar delta ratings from the highest to lowest ranked player. This is in an effort to address issues with matchmaking as of late, where it felt like ranking players would be matched against teams way over their skill rating.
