How to say Discord in Roblox

Tags don't always hold you back.

Like many platforms whose audiences are primarily made up of children, Roblox has pretty strict Terms of Service that are meant to protect those under the age of 17, and especially those under the age of 13. As part of these terms, certain words are blocked (or tagged) from being said on the platform, both in experiences and in direct messages, which has led players to use their creativity to bypass these tags and create their own hidden slang.

Why can't I say Discord on Roblox?

For those unfamiliar, Discord is a social media platform that connects people through similar interests, such as video games, YouTubers, movies, TV shows, books, etc., and allows them to chat about these interests in groups or one on one. Discord has both chatting and calling capabilities, and is used by almost 200 million users every month, as stated by Influencer Marketing Hub.

So, you may be wondering, why is Discord blocked on Roblox? Well, unfortunately, the answer to this question is rather dark. It would be remiss of me not to highlight the numerous instances that have occurred, specifically within the Roblox community, that involved an adult connecting with a child through Roblox, and then chatting with said child and creating inappropriate relations with them through Discord.

Over the last several years, there have been numerous cases in which this has happened with Roblox creators as the perpetrators, most notably with: Mah_Bucket, Ribs, Notive, MisterObvious, Konekokitten, Fave, and Kelogish, though there have been many more.

In an attempt to prevent this trend from continuing, Roblox has banned the word Discord from its chatting feature. Discord accounts can still be connected to experiences and profiles, but the ability to talk about Discord has been removed.

How to say Discord in Roblox without getting tagged

It's exceptionally unfortunate that horrible people are who caused Discord to be removed from Roblox's approved chat library, and essentially ruined it for everyone else, but luckily there are still ways that you can discuss Discord with your friends without actually saying the word. The list below contains a handful of ways that Discord can be said without getting tagged.

  • This gourd
  • This chord
  • D!5C@RD
  • Dizcard
  • Spelling it out letter by letter (C will be tagged)

Players will likely know what you mean/what you're trying to say when using any of these phrases, so don't worry if they seem too convoluted.

That's it for this quick guide on how to say Discord on Roblox without getting tags. Remember, protecting yourself on the internet is important; you should never give out any personal information to people you don't know and only talk to those you're sure you can trust. Making new friends on Roblox is a part of its point, but you should always be aware of who you're talking to and what you tell them!
