How to Revive the Dead in Dragon’s Dogma 2

It's alive!

Reviving the dead in Dragon's Dogma 2 is a vital mechanic that players can utilize to bring fallen characters back to life. My experience has shown that Wakestones are crucial in this process, offering a second chance in battles or missions.

Resurrecting a character in Dragon's Dogma 2 is possible through the use of a special item known as a Wakestone. This item's power transcends ordinary healing, allowing for the resurrection of characters who have succumbed to their injuries. This includes your Pawns and even yourself, should you decide to continue fighting a battle.

Wakestones are not readily available and require some effort to acquire. Players must collect three Wakestone shards, which are typically found in hidden or hard-to-reach locations. When three shards are united, they transform into a full Wakestone, ready to be used for revival purposes. Here is how to craft it:

  • Gather three Wakestone shards in your inventory.
  • The shards automatically combine to form a Wakestone.
  • The Wakestone is then ready for use in reviving characters.

Can you resurrect characters if they died to Brine in Dragon's Dogma 2?

Characters lost to the Brine, a perilous entity in deep waters that looks like it came out of Stephen King's The Raft story, cannot be resurrected. The Brine consumes NPCs entirely, leaving no opportunity for a revival since there is no corpse to be resurrected.

This does not include getting devoured by Brine if you go into deep waters, as the Arisen will automatically return to life with some health diminished. Avoid deep waters to prevent irreversible NPC losses to the Brine. This goes especially toward your Pawns; if Brine gets to them, you lose them and their inventories forever.
