How to fix audio crashes in Apex Legends

Apex Legends players report issues with audio devices, causing the game to crash in certain situations. Respawn has looked into the issue and has advised to avoid or fix the audio bug while the problem is being addressed. To fix or avoid audio crashes in Apex Legends, have any audio devices you use (ex. headset, speakers) plugged in before launching the game, and do not unplug them while playing.

Respawn has stated that players removing audio devices may cause the crash. If the crashing still occurs without removing an audio device, there are a few fixes to try.

If Apex Legends is crashing due to audio devices, but the devices have not been unplugged, check the audio device's connection to ensure it is properly connected, then restart the game. Next, you may need to update your audio drivers and restart the PC if you are on a PC. To update your driver, go to the PC menu, select settings, click Device Manager, find Audio inputs and outputs, then select Update Driver on the audio devices.
