Make new items entirely!

While Synthesis remains a core component of any game in the Atelier series, the method of synthesis can change from Trilogy to Trilogy, or even from game to game. While Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End and the Secret Key largely keeps the same crafting system as the first two games in the Trilogy, it has added a key feature to change up the formula, literally. You'll be able to learn and use Link Morph to change the Synthesis board of almost any item in the game. Here is how to use it.

Before you can use Link Morph, you'll need to unlock it from your Skill Tree. You'll first need to have unlocked Medica Powder, Max Quality 300, and Max Quality 500. Once unlocked you'll be able to modify nearly any crafting recipe you have.

To use Link Morph, you'll first need to fill the Core Material Loops in a recipe. After that, you should see a Link Morph Available message on each of the Core Material Loops. Choose which Core Loop you would like to change the effect of, then use the indicated button next to Link Morph on the right hand side of the upper bar, next to Secret Key. On PC, this is done by pressing your mouse wheel.

You'll then be given the chance to choose from a variety of ingredients in your container that will be able to change the Effect of an item. For Example, you can use Crimson Ore in a Link Morph with the Explosive Uni Recipe to replace the Surprise Skill with Fire damage, instead.

What do Link Morphs unlock in Atelier Ryza 3?

Link Morphs will not only change the items effects, but it will also remap an items subsequent Material Loops. This is important to know, because in some cases, Link Morphing is required to be able to unlock certain Recipe Morph Material Loops and other unique Material Loops, like those that increase the number of an item produced. If you can't find a particular Recipe Morph Material Loop, try using Link Morphing to change the Loop pattern and find it.
