Reconnaissance By Fire DMZ Mission Guide

Reconnaissance By Fire walkthrough.

Reconnaissance By Fire is a Tier 2 Shadow Company faction mission in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 DMZ. This mission tasks players to get AI kills using the MCPR-300 Sniper Rifle with three different optics attached in a single match. This is possible thanks to the workbench feature that allows attachment customization on the go.

How to complete Reconnaissance By Fire Mission in Call of duty DMZ (Walkthrough)

Below are the mission objectives for Reconnaissance By Fire:

  • Kill 7 enemies with the MCPR-300 with iron sights.
  • Kill 7 enemies with the MCPR-300 with a hybrid sight equipped in the same deployment.
  • Kill 7 enemies with the MCPR-300 with a thermal sight equipped in the same deployment.

Equip MCPR-300 in your DMZ loadout

You can attempt this mission on any map of your choice, be it Al Mazrah, Vondel, or Ashika Island. Before deploying into the DMZ, equip the MCPR-300 sniper in your loadout. You can see if there's one in your contraband stash, or you can use your insured weapon slot.

Bringing the MCPR-300 as an insured weapon will give you the liberty to customize the attachments. If so, go to the gunsmith and equip an iron sight, a thermal sight, or a hybrid sight of your choice as the optic attachment for the weapon. Whichever optic type you want to go with, I recommend the following for each:

  • Iron Sights: Cronen Irons (the only iron sights option)
  • Hybrid Sight: SZ Vortex-90
  • Thermal Sight: Schlager Night View

How to use the workbench to change the optic on MCPR-300

Let's assume you deploy into the match with the Cronen Iron sights equipped as the optic. Kill any seven AI enemies using the MCPR-300 build to complete the first task. Once this is done, you'll need $3000 cash to change your optic attachment. You can do so at workbenches that can be found next to every buy station.

Open the workbench and select MCPR-300 from the list of weapons. Go to the optic tab and choose any hybrid or thermal scope you'd like to use. I've marked my preferences in the image above. Select a scope and get seven kills with the weapon. Thereafter, go back to the workbench, change the optic again for the remaining task, and get seven more eliminations to finish the mission.
